Otherwise KYCU and myself will be claiming some extra seconds for today as well.......:p
Now then girls, girls!
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
A couple of pics from this morning (KYCU - do you want me to look out for yours too or do you want to maintain some anonymity?):
This is at about 4 miles, just getting warmed up:
And the finish:
There are no results yet, but from the pictures at the finish it looks like I might have bagged about 26th place out of 1,600 starters. That is way beyond what I would have expected - I was thinking in terms of 75-80th so cant wait to see the results now.....:D:D
ETA: Actually got 29th, but still pleased with that and 9th in age group, which is no mean feat with the speed of some of those V40s in the North West!!!:D
KYCU 2:01:15 - nice first half marathon bagged there, that sub 2 hours looks tantalising.;) (And a nice 2% boost to the WAVA)Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

I'm sore, thanks for asking. I'm going to take a knife to my aloe vera plant I think. Oh that start must have been worth a good 35 -40 seconds. Yep it was cold and I still ran in a t-shirt I didnt have time to feel it :rotfl:.
Theres a big who har going on about the rw 7min miler but I have to admit I was very dubious the 9min miler was doing 9min miles
Garmin says 9:18 pace avg hr 173

Was trying to reply on my phone but no joy
Congrats with your second place - I'm really chuffed that despite you little injury and lay off you havent really lost much fitness at all
Its good to be even close to you because you are a good runner and last year I was 9% away! Now you've lost a little and I've gained some so I'm happy with thatI'm sure you'll be smashing me away once your training gets going so I'm pleased with my third place!

Ouchy ouch KYCU. Those injuries look a bit painful - hope you're not too sore today. Love the photo; you look like you're out for a stroll in the afternoon sunshine
Hmmph .......... and don't mind about pushing little old me down to 4th place Uk.It won't be long before I'm slipping further down the WAVA slope ........... **especially if Chick and poorbabe come back to join in the fun**
Happy running to anyone venturing out today - and happy well deserved rest days to anyone taking them.2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -
Thanks Simply.
I reckon that was taken somewhere in the last mile to mile and a half, I was gasping like a goldfish at that point trying to pull some time back you should see the other photo . Cant believe I put all that effort in and still didnt get over 50% wava. Sore today sat here at my desk with only one shoe on atm, bruising is showing up nicely, wont be any running club for me tomorrow I imagine.
Hey rich hows your wound?
You wouldnt think becky had just run 24 miles when we met her.
My other half is threatening to do this race next year, well thats if her broken toe ever gets sorted.
Have a good day everyone ( in case I dont post again today)
