Can anyone recommend the Garmin Forerunner 50?
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
Morningall, that's my nice 6 miles under the belt ( including hill reps and a freezing stream) off for 2 hrs of sparing nowProud to be dealing with my debt:eek:

Hi Linda,
I have used one for 18 months, and it has been superb.
If you are not bothered by the GPS then it does more than enough.
I rarely use the HRM but the foot pod is brilliant. I set it up to follow my pace as I go round.
Just make sure you callibrate it, as the first time I did a Park Run I found out it was quite a bit out and that I wasnt quite as speedy as I thought......
Yesterdays 8miler was good....09.15pmile so happy with that.....looking forward to the 17 today, but not til early evening....
Rich, Mrs M is out today....she still hasnt missed one! shes on three a week and starting to improve.Sealed Pot Challenge 2013: No 1898

Good running to all of you out and racing today.
I had a major personal achievement yesterday as I was out running at half seven in the morning and did my very first 20 minute continuous run. :j I am well pleased as four weeks ago 2 minutes was touch and go. Feeling superb today and looking forward getting out again tomorrow."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

I'm very pleased with that - I thought about running 22 but at mile 21 was only 1/2 mile from home so stopped and walked the rest as a warm down. It was probably a bit faster than it should have been but I'm pleased to have got another 20 miler under my belt.
Well done on the parkrun Linda and on your continuous 20 mins Marru :T
You were speedy again yesterday mascott - good luck with the 17 miler later.
Oooh catspaw - hill reps and a freezing stream??? That was brave - well done
That was a good pace for an undulating LSR ev - I'm making sure that I take in undulations with mine too as I've read that NDVM undulates. My last two miles include a bridge over the River Itchen and a short sharp hill - just what I need at the end of a run :rotfl:
Did you get a bit blown around then Uk?? I like Brighton it's one of my favourite places to visit for a weekend.2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -

Sun21/2 Great North West 1/2 Marathon 1:22:47 (6:19/mile) [75.50%]
Loads of snow this morning on the way over (M62 down to 1 lane over the top) but conditions dramatically improved during the race to the point where they didnt have any noticable effect on times.
Anyway, I'm absolutely delighted with everything about that run, the 10 miles point was reached in 1:03:24 (6:20/mile) and then the last 5K was covered in 19:23 (6:15/mile). The overall time was 12 seconds inside a very stretching target so delighted that the progress towards the sub 3 hour marathon is well on track.:j:j
That makes the 1/2 marathon progression over the last 12 months:
22/2/09 Brighton 1:34:24
21/6/09 Freckleton 1:27:46
23/8/09 Ufdance 1:33:41
8/11/09 Lancaster 1:25:50
21/2/10 Blackpool 1:22:47
It was really nice to meet KYCU and OH this morning - congratulations on beating the McMillan target of 2:08, KYCU....that is quite a chunk of time inside expectations at 2:01.xx.:T
Becky had a cracking LSR while we were messing about doing the short distance stuff...she'll post about it shortly.
Simply - You must be getting strong now, not only doing these 20+ runs but also feel good at the end of them ...great work.:D
UK - It was the luck of the draw weather wise today unfortunately. How was the time?
Marru - That is a lot of progress in a short period. You can look forward to plenty more where that came from. Think of a snowball which takes some getting going but once it starts to pick up speed.......:D
Ev - More evidence of the strength you developed during the aborted marathon training. I bet that felt good!
Catspaw - You're very brave, nothing worse than freezing feet during a run. Looks like you coped well though...Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
