I'm in for tthe new running site/forum thingy.

Nice slow 10 miler today roughly 10 min miles, and a good flurry of snow and gale force winds to liven thigns up, then 2 hrs of TKD (or cross training ) to really kick the last bits of the flu out of me.

Anybody else doing/ have done the Mont Blanc marathon?

Nice running there, catspaw. You obviously ran well within yourself if you managed another 2 hours of exercise afterwards.

I cant recall anyone else mentioning the Mont Blanc Marathon - sounds a bit too hilly for most of us on here!:p

Hi, Julie - I dont think anyone is doing the Glasgow 10K (full list of races entered so far on page 162). If you're up that way have you managed to get to the Glasgow parkrun yet? Every Saturday morning 5K and FREE!

  • Thanks RichOneday - i shall take a look at page 162, as I am also running the great Scottish run in September. I have considered the Parkruns as they sound fun, but I am a member of JogScotland and get out and about every week with them.
  • Wow! a lot of great times :D

Can I get added to the list?

I do a few 5K's in between also. Will update nearer the time.

  • I find this thread really difficult to follow, and sometimes have to skip through.

    However,

I was a newbie not that long ago and I would hate to see future newbies miss out on our great community.

If we can find a way, I am happy either way but the true attraction of this site is reading of Rich burning off around Britain and a newbie like me vomiting around their back garden....

Maybe some sort of Link?? I dont know.

    Fair point, Mascott.

I think that the linear format of a thread is also a downside for newbies because its hard to get a sense of what is going on. There needs to be 'resources' in fixed positions ie FAQs, Training Advice, Races Entered, Results etc.

Some linkage through would make sense to get the best of both worlds so to speak.

Hello Marru - you are doing C25K arent you? How are you getting on?

How would you feel about us all upping and leaving being a newbie - have you been motivated to take up running by us posting or just posting on here because you have taken up running and you saw it by chance?

Yes I am and it is going great hence getting addicted. I did nip into this thread quite awhile ago but felt not being in your league - still do to be honest but now the bug has bitten I have been lurking more and feeling that I could be a proper runner one day.

Do appreciate that indexing the info would be great. I don't know how this lot did it, would it work here? Also there is editgrid online spreadsheets.
