KYCU - I think we can well and truly raise the 'mission accomplished' banner. I reckon the course was long by about, oo let me see, how does 3 seconds sound.;)
Good pacing too to be able to put in such a strong finish.
What a confidence booster that must be....:D

First adventure race under the belt ( please no yelling people,it brakes up the running...I know it might not count as a proper race:D)
Went like this:

2 mile run
kayak
3 mile run
planck tteam test
scramble net
slippery wall
and what a laugh.....all to break up the training.
Have bookham next weekend. Am trying to decide if running a 10 mile loop of Box Hill on Thursday before today was such a good idea:rotfl:Proud to be dealing with my debt:eek:
TOTAL: £6,437 (04/01/2013) slowly but surely it is decreasing:D0 -

Thanks for your support guys! :T
Welcome Glaw!
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
Thanks Linda! Sorry to hear about your run this morning. At least you got out! Maybe a bad run's better than no run at all? Or maybe runners on here a lot more experienced than me will disagree?
Hope things go better at your running club tomorrow.0 -
Hello its sort of working now (but still slooow)
Linda - you made tons of progress recently so keep thinking back to the good runs and try to brush off the bad ones - they get less and less as time goes on too
Welcome Glaw - good running there - whatever works for you with routes is best to start out, but you may find after a while that the laps become your friend - they have mine...I'm possibly going to be in Glasgow in September so am hoping to do that parkrun while I am there - its got some blinding runners in and looks to be a good course!
Simply - I am sooo chuffed for youWe were discussing earlier and I reckon that 4:30 is on the cards because you still have 16 weeks left! So you can feel very proud of your achievement today
Ev - sub 60 looks good to me - nice running!
Mascott - sorry about your knee, but I always think its better to rest if you need it, hopefully you'll come back stronger in a few days (I had two rest days this week and I dont feel guilty at all!)
KYCU - fantastic race!!!! Well done - bet you'll be smiling all day tomorrow
Catspaw - sounds like lots of hard work - well done on getting through it - we'll call it cross training shall we
Uk - hello! Hope todays run was a good one.
I am so impressed with Rich's run - watching him go round the park was awe inspiring - he didnt even look like he'd run 10 miles let alone 25 when he got back
I was hoping to do 23 today (well 22.88) but I had a really tough run that is hidden by the time - I nearly quit at 8 miles and really had to dig deep to carry on...to feel that way and get through 20 miles is very pleasing indeed
So my week totals 51.16 miles which is good but also includes a pb, and its very likely I broke my half marathon pb (or was very close) in the course of todays 20 miler so thats another positive to take from it. At one point I was going at 8:45 mins/mile (which is also while I was struggling) so I think 3:45 is looking on now.
I am also now hoping on the back of Saturdays run to do the Dewsbury 10k in 47 mins rather than 48:30 - we will see how tired I am though0
