Thanks for the congrats, all! Yes, I'm pleased with the new PB. I wasn't happy going round, I just felt a bit uncomfortable, but in hindsight this was a much more competitive week and I was hanging around with some faster runners. I didn't think I'd done very well, but in reality I was pushing harder than I realised. There are quite a few runners just ahead or just behind me, which tells a story. A bit of competition certainly seems to help the times.
Sunday was a slow 12 miler, as per Dr. rich's recommendation. Doing a slow 4 miler at lunchtime. Tomorrow I'm playing 5-a-side so no run. Then the plan is to run to work (9 miles) on Wednesday (marathon pace) and Thursday (easy) before having 3 days off on a long weekend away.
So, is it OK to wait for the 14th to do my 16 miler? Or should I try to squeeze it in sooner?
Good running all. And welcome, glaw5.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -
P.S. Just as well I knocked out a new PB, becky was within 4 seconds of beating mine  I somehow think she'll crack 22mins before I do 21, though! Maybe I'll need to get myself some of these racing shoes!Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:yeah sorry about that - we did find it funny that I'd got within 4 seconds and you smashed it again
They've just bought out the 2010 version so in a few weeks you might be able to get my ones cheaper:money:

Well, if I'm 30 seconds off the crispy challenge target by the end of May, I might just have to do that :rotfl: which ones have you got, again?
On the other hand, if I'm going to get some, it may make sense to get them before the Lydd half or at least before the Blackpool mara...Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -
I wont wear mine for the marathon - they arent cushioned enough! They are Lunar racers (not lunaglides they are the other ones) - they were £83 but I think the best money I ever spent tbh0

Looks like everyone had a good weekend running.....especially Becky:D
Nice slow 5 miler this morning at 5a.m. (would have been 430 but couldn't be bothered to get out of bed), think roughly a 9 min mile pace and a long long slow hill thrown in for good measure. Maybe the 'cross trianing':rotfl:helped.Proud to be dealing with my debt:eek:
TOTAL: £6,437 (04/01/2013) slowly but surely it is decreasing:D0 -
In fact BT they have them on amazon for £65:

I had to go a size up as they are quite narrow so bear that in mind0 -

do you have sorbothanes in them? Or are they still not cushioned enough? I'll probably wear my normal trainers for the mara and the half.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -

Cool, thanks Becky. I have small but fairly wide feet. I might need to try out a pair for size in NikeTown and then walk out :rotfl:Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -

Yep just throw away the insoles as usual :rotfl::rotfl:
But they still arent cushioned enough for long runs - I wonder if the lunarglides are as they are one up in weight terms, the best way is to ask but i find the Nike staff a bit simple - you might need to try one of the running shops and just check they have them in stock0
