    No I saw it on a T-shirt :D

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.
  • Fantastic running again Becky and Rich :T You are really flying at the moment Becky - it's great to see you doing so well and smashing that WAVA to pieces. That will give Uk something to chase :p:D

    Oops

When doing a long run stick to the plan. Plan was 6 yesterday and 15 today. Was tied up and never had time for yesterdays so thought reaching Distington would be fine as it would be 18 miles there and back.

Well yes that might of been the plan so god knows what i was thinking when i er reached Workington before turning for home. Now 18 miles would of been stretching things to a certain extent but the 22 miles i ended up doing was daft.

11 miles managed in 1:57 approx, still going ok after 17 miles then it began to hurt and rapidly went down hill. More walk/run than run/walk come the end but i managed to run long enough at the end to do the 22 miles in 4:09:51 where as back at mile 17 i was on course for 4 hours or a little under.

Now for a roast chicken mini roast with roast parsnips and brocolli cheese. Should keep me going for a while.

Oh i fully expect to be doing the cowboy shufle come tomorrow as my bottom is a tincy wincy bit chaffed :(

My goal for today was to run further than the 12 miles I managed last week so although I was slower than a slow thing on a slow day I'm pleased to have managed 18 miles bringing me to a weekly total of 40 miles. :D

It's going to be another easy week with no speed work to see if I can manage the full 20 miles next Sunday.

I could tell that we're getting into the 'running season' as I saw loads of other runners today - I think the nice weather brought them out. Spring is definitely on it's way. ;)

Now I know why my Dad used to coat his legs in cooking oil before a race!
