It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

BoS - YOur quote reminds me of Jeff Dunham's Achmed the Dead Terrorist. Is it him or from something else?

Anyway best vanish else it'll be dark before i return from my run as i need to figure out how to fit the bladder to my new toy (Inov8 Race 22 back pack) before heading off for a wee run exploring the cycle route to the north (not gone beyond whitehaven that way but have down a 22 mile return trip southwards - there is aother 5-10 miles to go southwards too)

A good session this morning - the aim was to do something like a 1:15 warm up and then a 1:08 race, so 1:13:20 and 1:07:30 fits the bill nicely.:D:D

The idea was to see how the strength would hold up towards the end of 20 miles. The race itself (or rather 'training with a number on') was completed at 2:57 marathon pace, with the first 5 miles taking 33:40 and the second 5 miles 33:50. The fact that there was no tailing off of pace and that the last mile (the 20th mile) was the fastest at 6:26 all augurs well.

In total, 20 miles took 2:20:50 (7:02/mile) which is a nice 8 minute ratchetting up on last week's 20 mile effort. Very happy!:D:D

As for Becky's morning. Well, I'll let her tell you.......

(suffice to say, another WAVA improvement to 62.23%!!!!)

    Sun - 10 miles in 1:19:21 7:56 mins/mile new pb by 5:20

Wow I dont quite believe that :D:D Got the target that looked a long way off even a few weeks ago I was talking about settling for sub 1:24. The course was also a good bit tougher than last year (undulating for all 10 miles) so I am very pleased with that and a new highest WAVA as well :D

    Happy days!
