Wow some great running going on, Becky you are doing so well - fantastic work :T
I'm still out there, but haven't been posting daily results as I'm mostly incorporating hills into my runs so it looks like I've taken a step back in my training. However I know I'm improving still as the third part of the hills was a route that I haven't done for about 3 years and it felt fine!
Just under 2 weeks until my race and feeling confident that I'll improve greatly on my last 10km shambles!
Sun 24/1 6.4 miles (lots of hills)0 -
Well done BT and Evab on some good running
So the 14 miles is out of the legs already then BT? Thats good news
Evab - I am sure you will improve - hills replicate much faster work anyway so no need to worry about the speed slipping - the aerobic work on the lungs will be giving you massive benefits!0 -

Well, kind of. The legs are a bit sore and heavy. Was thinking of a slow recovery run more than anything. Will go for a nice long walk at lunchtime instead. Just as good for the heavy (very slightly sore) legs.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -
Well done bt, enjoy the walk!0

Nice going, BT, especially on the back of the (nearly) 12 miler last week.
Although you'll have no after effects as such in a couple of days time, you would still be well advised to drop it back next week, to maybe 12, to consolidate. Push on again the next week by as much as you feel comfortable with but a breather week is definitely a good idea.
Evab - The hills are very much like running in snow whereby you get more out of each mile than you would under more standard condition. So looking forward to see your improvements in a few weeks time.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Thanks for the advice rich. However, the weekend after next I'm away. In fact, the Sundays leading up to Blackpool are as follows:
31/01
07/02 - away (long w/e)
14/01
21/02 - away (long w/e)
28/02
07/03
14/03 - Lydd Half
21/03
28/03 - away (long w/e)
04/04 - (tapering)
11/04 - Blackpool mara
What kind of mileage should I be looking at for these? I guess 21/03 should be my 21-22 miler. If necessary, I can fit in a long run before or after the Sunday of the long weekends, though it may be more tricky.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -

Thanks, rich. Presumably the jump from 16 to 20 should be OK?
Looks like my office is about 10 miles from my house (following roads, not straight line). *** BT rubs chin in contemplation ***

Thanks rich and becky, just looking at some OS maps of walk ways up the hills to plan out some cross country routes. Getting bored of the roads and not too soon to get these routes in my legs ready for 2nd attempt at Snowdonia mara in October.0
