Just had a snowy trip around the coutryside with Becky. The plan was to do two 10 mile laps but Becky got an unfortunate stitch towards the end of the first lap, probably due to all the sliding about.

But still 10 miles in the bank to get a nice appetite up!:D:D

unless there is another Anna Seeley who has been credited with the Newcastle result incorrectly.

  • just done my 11 miler.
That was tough but I loved it. Nearly headed back as a snow storm started up as I passed my house at mile 6 but fought off the urge.

Pace was fine at 10.05. It was harder running today as my route had broken up by the people walking on it. Second half was better on the more compacted icy snow.

Cross train tomorrow, off for a swim!!

Well done Becky /Rich , feels great after with a nice glass of wine.!

Good Luck to all those heading out.

I could have done with those shoes this morning Uk :rotfl:

There was no fresh snowfall overnight and it was soooooooo slippery. I tried running in the road as much as I could but the main roads were busy and the side roads were as icy as the pavements.

When the sleet/snow started falling it got too risky to carry on (I was like Bambi) so I cut it short and did the last 10 miles on the treadie. Not sure what pace I did as the stupid thing decided to throw a hissy fit at being neglected for so long and wouldn't show me how long I'd been running for.

Glad you managed to get out Becky, Rich and mascott - hope you enjoyed it. :D

Very well done, Simply.....22.6 miles, wow!:D:D

There arent many people in the whole country knocking out 20+miles this week so you're in the elite on that score............

Good going too, Mascott......it just shows that the weather can be beaten.

  • Thanks Rich; it was the first 22 miler in my training plan and I really didn't want to do any less. I needed to do it to prove to myself that I could. ;)

I went a bit over as I did a very slow 1/2 mile on the treadie when I first got on in case my muscles had got a bit too cold - they appeared to be ok so I upped the pace and carried on. I'm knackered now though :rotfl:

  • Simply........Hats off to you thats REAL dedication. To be honest just 10 miles plus on a treadmill would have been a killer for me.:T

It was very strange running on it after so long mascott - I don't think I'll rush to do it again. It didn't feel at all natural and made my feet/legs ache in some very odd places. I definitely prefer it outdoors - rain, snow or whatever. :D
