Hey Simply, I thought I had a monopoly on ranting around here!:p
Welcome to the club.:D
Anything else you feel like getting off your chest?;)
To be fair, race organisation is very difficult and takes a good few years for an event to settle down. Is this a relatively new one by any chance?
Its always good to feed back your observations, obviously in a constructive format since you're normally criticising the actions of volunteers, to give them the chance to improve things for next time.
Well established races are the ones to go to for minimum hassle....
I hope you're feeling sufficiently chuffed with yourself now that its had time to sink in.:D
Chick - 6:30 is a nice time to run. I did a lot of that last winter but for some reason havent had the urge so far this year. Something to do with duvets and pillows I think.:pGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

How annoying simply, I agree you should definitely let the organisers know the problems.
Still a good run though!0 -
Too many togs Rich0

Simply - They recorded the number '249' twice, hence the confusion. It was recorded for positions 248th(not you) and 266th (which was you).
So they are asking you to contact them just to state who you are. So an official time of 55:57, which is only 10 seconds lost at the start...not too bad!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Ha, ha, ha I'm a Grumpy Old Woman :rotfl:Seriously though I will feedback my thoughts constructively.
It's not a new event as I read somewhere that next year will be the 10th anniversary - I suppose I've just been lucky in that although the few races I've entered have all been small they have been well organised.
Just seen your most recent post Rich - it's funny but the chap with the real 249 is someone I know through work. He was the only person I recognised at the event and I was a little behind him most of the way round (he had a faster finish than me though!)
Now ........................... what else can I find to rant about???? :rotfl:2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -

Whats the chances, eh?
So it was just a manual recording issue....dont be too hard on them!:p
We often have little idiosyncrancies with the parkruns. But they are free after all so no reason to complain. In fact, I think the little issues give the events their charm!:D
Things like the lead bike taking the wrong route (no complaints from me, I won the race), sheets of results going missing for a few days, dead bodies on the course (its only happened twice so far at Leeds and Wimbledon, so its not as though its a regular occurrenece:p) etc etc...

Oooh, I forgot to answer you Rich - I'm very chuffed with my time thanks. :j
Coach Becky writes a mean training schedule but it's obviously having a positive effect on my speed.
Hi Uk - how are you doing?2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -

Don't worry I won't be hard on them -I'm sure my inexperience didn't help and anyway I'm too pleased with my result
