Well thats set me in a better mood - 4.1 miles in 39:06 9:32 mins/mile and it felt pretty easy...am going to give a longer run a go tomorrow and see how it feels :D

Had no aches/pains today (other than headache) so decided to attempt a Tempo(ish) run this evening. Did 10 min walk on the treadie to warm up and after starting my watch covered it up with my sleeve so that I couldn't see what pace I was running. My legs didn't feel too responsive at first but I soon settled into the run and had a very nice surprise when I downloaded the data on my return. :D:D

Nice to see that you survived your run tonight Becky - that must deserve a pizza ;)

Hi krider - it's lovely to see you back with us; sorry to hear of your injury. Fingers crossed that your return to running is trouble free. :D

Hmm, we just need to find evab now.

And poorbabe (although I swear I saw her yesterday on Embankment but it was dark and she lives nowhere nearby hmmmm|)

Well done on the run though - was it a full tready one or did you switch outside after warm-up?
  • Oooh no, it was only the warm up walk that was on the treadie - the run was outside.

I even overtook a cyclist tonight which was a first - I'm not sure he hadn't spent the afternoon in the pub as he was cycling so slow, and weaving a bit, but it still made me chuckle.

Chick and Hypno are a bit quiet too - do you think they've all gone to find some winter sun?

Chick usually posts on the weekend...and I think Hypno is currently mia - but maybe shes lurking somewhere ;)

I went out in my shorts today and it wasnt even cold - who needs winter sun eh :p
  • We'll have to see if we can entice her out of lurkdom - we could always try chocolate I suppose?

It was certainly mild tonight; I wore a long sleeved t-shirt with my capris and was too hot. That might be my age though :rotfl:

Actually Becky I have a favour to ask - I've been struggling to find a 10k race that fits in with my training schedule but I entered the Somerley 10k, on 3rd January, whilst I was tapering for Abingdon. If I email my schedule back to you do would you be kind enough to tinker with it for me please?

That felt really good!:D In fact, I had to reign it in a bit after reminding myself it was only supposed to be an easy run.:p

But its all a good sign suggesting the the last two attempts at good 5K times at the parkruns this week and next should at least be decent attempts. Then after that, the mileage will go right up and the speed will drop off for a couple of months...

Simply - Dare I say...Not too shabby for someone who was falling apart a couple of days ago!;)

Becky - Just because you've had a good run after eating 2 pizzas in the previous 24hrs doesnt prove a causal link!

Krider - Nice to see you back.:D

Tried a new route today. Was planning to do a bit longer run, but didn't have time to map it first, so didn't work out. Today's route has couple of uphills at the start and a slopey one at the end, none of them are too long though, but bit different to the usual. I think I could've run faster, but as I wasn't sure how much I was doing, I took it easy.

I'm going to map a 5mi route for next week. Except my dad's coming over for a week on week Wednesday so not sure how many runs I can get in if any. I'll check with him if he has room for his running gear in his hand luggage. :D
