Was undecided whether tonight's run would be an easy 10K or a tempo run....I decided at about the 1 mile mark that things were feeling pretty good so it became a tempo run from there on in.:D

    First 5K 21:34, return 5K 21:11 .....I'll settle for that on a 108 pulse.

Simply - Pretty much mended already by the looks of it. There's not much that doesnt fix itself in the great scheme of things. Should be able to ease back into it now.....

Becky - Since when did an aborted training run justify a humongous pizza?:p

  • Well, that wasn't too shabby Rich :rotfl:

Now, in Becky's defence I don't recall that she said the pizza was justified. It's quite understandable that she needed consoling after the shock and distress of having to abort her run and I'm sure that it's just a teensy weensy little pizza ;)

  • So, that's two humongous pizzas :rotfl: :rotfl: (said in a 'not encouraging' sort of way :p;))

  • Work colleague today said 'you're so lucky, you can eat what you like', I respond 'eh, how do you work that out', 'all the running you do, surely you eat what you like' errrr, no, a 4 mile run burns about 1 chocolate bar, (OK, I exaggerated a little!) - so, each run only equates to a small treat, and that's if I want to stay static but I want to improve my weight and strength - so no way can I eat any old rubbish! It started a whole debate with a little crowd gathering.

Isn't it funny people don't realise how hard it is to burn all those calories we happily tuck away!
  • And then as weight drops and the body becomes ever more efficient you need less and less...........

But thats the whole point, surely.....a body that works efficiently, ie well!:D

  • Absolutely! It never ceases to amaze me how forgiving the human body is, and that you can spend 42 years being lazy, and transform in 2 years, to strength and fitness never dreamed of! Oh grief - it's addictive!
  • Too true!:D:D

Btw Are you up for Bromley on Saturday, Bj?

(No slippy hills - all nice and flat on tarmac. Honest;))
