Yep, probably with the runner that finished 1 second in front of her as she was a first timer from Hampton which is roughly where Sonia O'sullivan lives, I think!
Must be nice to beat a world champion on your first run.:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

From RW::rolleyes:
im prone to doing stupid things. would you run a marathon with no training at all? thats what i once did, just becasue id always wanted to do one. i probably had not run for around 5 years when i did it. just turned up on the day, paid and off i went. not the smartest thing i ever did .....
.......stupidly yes i did finish it. i managed to stay wth the lead pack for the first 5 miles before the effects of no training kicked in. legs started to swell soon after and i got halfway by 2 hours. legs got bandaged up and i pretty much walked the 2nd half and just about made it over the line in something like 6hours 5 mins. ........
So this chap put no effort whatsoever into preparing for the event and then has the gall to go on to complain about the organisers:
.........there was me and a lady from portsmouth (think it was portsmouth), that came equal last. the bloody annoying thig was, they were dismataling the finish area, so we got no official time. we got medals
Only for another poster to back him up:
I wonder if whoever organised your marathon were the same people that organise current Blackpool races. They often mess things up, & have spolied 3 of my Blackpool races with no finish time, etc.
A lot of people have been seriously !!!!ed off with the organisation of the Blackpool events. Though the Beaverbrooks one was ok, as not run by the same people.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

You can beat them round the head with my extremely muddy and stinky trail shoe! :rolleyes:
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -

He can run fast but he has no stamina and he's the same age as me but where as hes been running on and off for years I have kept my training fairly steady (only started this year) his HP pb is 32m something mines 27.48. Running club might sort him out but I'm glad I didnt go to that one,I couldnt bear running round and round a track :eek::staradmin5k - 00:27:46:staradmin 10k - 00:57.03:staradminHalf - 02:01:15:staradmin5M - 00:44:07:staradmin0 -
I like this quote re the Heaton Park parkrun:
"......put it theis way, iif i had to do the course again without marshalls, i'd take a few wrong turns..."
At a push I reckon you could take a wrong turn or two WITH marshalls.:rolleyes::p;);)Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
