  • Totally agree Steve, most satisfying! My first time in the mud, I kinda don't want to wash my clothes, as they're proof! I've been saying to everyone today 'yes, of course I still ran this morning' - they must hate me I'm so smug!

Really need to sort the clothing for the winter though. Mine is way too heavy when wet. also, what's the best way to clean up my shoes?! i've never got anything that expensive in this state in all my life! ha ha! Loving it. in fact, this morning was a real catalyst to get me back on track. I'm cooking this afternoon, dinners for the week, so that I can take my running and gym time straight from work. Have to find a schedule that works with the new full time working and the kids too. i've put on 4lb in 2 months - the honeymoon is over - back on track for me!

Hannah, keep posting hun, you're my inspiration to keep going. I'm 91lb down, but more importantly, my fat %, muscle tone and strength are transformed. I read an old e-mail to a friend that said my resting heart rate was 77 - OMG - was it ever that high! It's now 50. This is what counts. Taken 18 months so far, but soooo worth it. I love getting fitter!

Well done everyone who's got out there and pushed themselves this week, and this morning. Such an inspiring forum of folk!

My new sports bras arrived today so they should hopefully make me a little more streamlined and less likely to suffer from black eyes

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

Hi all just got back from Grantham where we went to dh passing out parade, he got best recruit  so that was pretty good!

Having a chill out afternoon and evening then back to training tomorrow, hope everyone is OK and will try to catch up on posts Ev x
  • Congratulations to your dh evab - you must be very proud :T

After a goods night sleep and a day working at home I braved a gentle 4 miles last night - dark, wet and windy - I really enjoyed it :D

4 Miles - 00:42:40 (10:30/mile) - my legs were a bit creaky which I assume is to be expected after a week's enforced lay off (??) but my chest/lungs felt fine even running into a strong headwind. :T

I'm not going to push to do the Gosport Half tomorrow but will get out for a slow 6-8 miles instead and ease myself back into training.

Hope you are all enjoying these blustery conditions ;)

Ha ha - love it! I have a couple of different types, not quite sure which I like best. They are either a bit squashed up and all up front, or flat, tighter and I'm sure affect my ability to breath. But anything less, well, you said it - black eyes! The boys don't have this expense of course!

I got the level 4 Shock Absorbers which should hold my heaving bosooms in place :D

If not I'll be calling in the scaffolders. :p

Ah, jolly good - that's the one I've got that fits, but I'm sure affects my breathing! But no booby ache!

Simply - sounds like a sensible plan for tomorrow. Enjoy

Linda, BJ - I don't have the same problem as you ladies as I have what my lovely hubby calls an 'athletic' build (no boobs). :o:D I wear a crop top style bra, it seems to work for me.

I braved the blustery conditions this morning and really enjoyed a breezy 7-miler. It started out as a 4.5 miler but I was really enjoying myself so I kept extending it. I'm having a really stressful time at work at the moment but my running is really keeping me sane.

I'm off out in the morning for a trail run from up to Darwen Tower. For those of you who ever drive along the M65 it is the thing that looks like a rocket ship on the hill.

Well done to everyone who managed to get out today. Windy but worth it.

Well done on all the windy runs. Mum and I headed out this arvo, 7.68miles (10:14/mile) sure the wind meant we were not even moving at somepoints :D Came back very wet but pleased we hadn't talked ourselves out of not going.
Bj- tried out my full length running tights today- felt a bit strange to start with but great for keeping warm and running in rain, no heavy waterlogged trousers to drag round run!- a bargin from sports direct at £10.99 :D
Simply- glad you are feeling better:j
Bank of slate and Bj, wish I had need of level 4 shock absorbers - running got rid of mine ;)
