    20 milers????:eek::eek::eek::eek: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

(gives Millie 2 months of hanging around on here before she starts talking about entering a marathon :p:cool:)

Right am off to bed - got lots of work to do tomorrow so need to get in early!
  • Hey Linda, you keep trying to persuade me to do the Leeds Abbey dash don't you?,

    ...Linda xx
It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.
  • Hoping the sick people are less sick now! Doesn't sound like some of you are :(

Running club seems to be seriously agreeing with you Linda!

Keep going pinkhayley - what 1Hannah says is true for me too - I didn't run before February of this year. It gets better/easier/more fun. Honest! To the extent you miss it when you don't do it - as you can see from some of the posts of those trying to infect the rest of us :p

tirlittan - the only thing I think the Drs do is peak flow which is only the short sharp power part of lung capacity. And becky - running hasn't helped mine - it's still pants (less than half what someone of my age/stature should be)! Drs always moan at me for it! There is another test I had done once as a child at a hospital which is about length of time breathing out rather than force of breath out - I was good at that one...

Running in the rain rocks - so long as there is not an accompanying bitter wind I've decided. Though I suppose a breathable windproof should do the job there...

I'm reporting 3 more runs since I was last here - yep 4 consecutive days running! :D And I have full hold of the tigger legs right now!

Tuesday - 4.1 miles in 40:18 (9:49/mile) - could really feel the legs from the 8m on Monday and I felt hungry enroute - can't remember the last time that happened?!
    Wednesday - 4.4 miles in 41:48 (9:29/mile)
Thursday - 5 miles in 46:47 (9:19/mile) - didn't feel fast, but obviously wasn't too slouchy! A couple of (just) sub 9 minute miles in there too (and a nasty stitch)

Final weekly total = 21.5 miles

Unlikely to get out on Saturday due to other commitments. No idea about Sunday, but I may cross train or something as I've reached my weekly mileage target (20). Will see how I feel hence the final weekly total above.

For the wuss who doesnt like wet feet (BJ) SealSkinz do waterproof socks which I guess would be much better than sweaty waterproof shoes.

My eldest's birthday yesterday I took him to KFC and we had this conversation.

Me: Now look lad If you dont like your present tell me then we can change it for something you want as it was a lot of money.
Him: I cant do that, theres children in this country get no presents so we should be thankfull for what we get. :A

Thank goodness he liked it anyway :D

  • Sheesh I feel like a threadslayer where is everyone this morning?

I did 4.5m of hill work at an easy pace yesterday. Im going to do a 9 miler today.

I pinched oh's windproof gloves for running when its cold :money: They're like new apparently they arent warm enough for her . I should probably buy a proper running hat( baseball type). I dont like them but I like rain on my glasses even less cos that means I cant see where im running . Im using my Tobermoray distillery baseball cap at the mo :rotfl:
