May an occasional visitor pop her head over the parapet with a couple of queries?:o

Firstly I had seen Yarn Paradise referred to my WS and had a look at the web site the other day, have any of you used it and how do you know the wool thickness, ie. 3-ply, 4-ply, DK, Chunky, Aran, etc.

Secondly - any of your into Tapestry - Bought a picture of Bourton on the Water to do for a very good friend of mine who is blind (I know it sounds strange but she will appreciate it if I ever get it finished!). It is one with the picture painted onto the canvas, well I am more used to counted cross-stitch with half and quarter stitches if necessary to make shapes, on these do you just go with what you think if the canvas has two colours in a square? The problem is one done you cannot see the picture below it!:o

Lastly, a big ty to Maytaurus :Tfor the crochet scarf pattern, my DS's GF is into fashion design and I think that is unusual enough to appeal to her IYKWIM and should only take me a couple of nights.

 to all the old friends, and :hello: to any new ones.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • morning all...donny gal anyone is welcome! I ca answer the tapestry question! You just do single stitch of each into the hole so it comes out like a half and half! Also if its a really long sitch of one color then I would advise spltting it into two stitches and it goes awry otherwise as nothing to "hold" onto...hth?
hugs may...isoke seems unwilling to let go of energy as happily munching my toes at 4am...granny encouraged her to come and help mummy with knitting and agrees she is a beautiful and loving kitten with hours of entertainment!
Am a party pooper when it comes to halloween am affraid - round here youre likely to ge the flour and water plus being a Christian it doesent sit comfortably but I do think that alternatives can be celebrated...anti halloween party anyone?!! Having said that I dont have any bad feeling to those that do celebrate - we all have out own choices dont we! :)
May hugs for you...hope today is better for you...
psso and F1 hope you feel more yourselves today...horrible when you feel out of cync...
chalky hope the hospital goes ok..

I am doing lots of scarves for Christmas too, although not looked at that link yet!
I am missing sitting down and knitting but have been so busy with other stuff I have not had a chance! Currently deciding whether or not to get a trip away to get Christmas presents, or to order online---want to get DS a garage but nothing like that in the shops here :(. Decisions decisions.....and it is eating into my knitting time lol!
Anyway take care all of you,

:hello:Hi Donny-Gal nice to see you over here and you are more than welcome to join us, the more the merrier, but be warned its very addictive :rotfl:
Kathy - hope the hospital goes ok. I have another ruffle scarf on a hook at the mo, along with a poppy, and the ripple blanket, I really must have a finishing off day :o

Have a parcel ready to go but not sure whether to send it, do any of you know if they are getting through???

    Better go

my next door neighbour (who actually looks like a witch all year round) had a party last night, loud music, the bass could be felt vibrating our floor, it was so loud. at just after midnight i had to ask them to turn it down a little, as my kids were being kept awake, and got shouted at by them

If you click on the written name of a yarn (rather than the picture) you get a run down of all the details about it including the needle size in mm required to knit it. Quite a relief as American sites often just give the USA size which confuses me!
