psso just had a thought if it's not too late, for pricing you could look on etsy and folksy and see what they charge.

  • Thanks to Kathy for her help when I was very cheeky and pm'd her earlier, and for her kind invite to join the thread - wow! you're all so impressive - I'm blown away!

I've only recently started knitting again after a good few years absence - the intention was to encourage my Mum to pick up her needles after a serious illness. Unfortunately, she's not quite up to speed yet (although we hope she will be in due course) however I can't seem to stop  I love the idea of charity knitting - why hadn't I thought of it before?

This afternoon I'm having a sweep-up 'sewing up' session (is it just me, or is this the worst bit?!) - four 'christmas box' kiddies hats and two dog coats. Then I'm back to work on my inaugural teddy..

Hope everyone's having a good afternoon - happy halloween knitting!

Welcome to the thread, Ma Belarch!

I completely agree that the sewing up is the worst part - although in my case picking up stitches to do a collar or button band comes a very close second!

I haven't completed anything for the updates this week, but I am halfway through the front of the charity jumper that I am knitting (having completed the back) and I have made a start on my first ever sock which will hopefully be a Christmas present if all goes well!

yes i think i can put IS hats on my list now that they have gone to a good cause.
been helping at church jumble sale today,do people not go to them any more? is it just in my area? hardly any one turned up really, made just over £100 , everyone was very generous donating their stuff but didn`t want to come and buy more:confused: we had 2 rooms full of stuff to get rid off.
on the plus side i gained some wool for my stash and also took home a bag of squares that someone had started to make into a blanket:j, i also put by a load of warm clothing for our homeless centre,so some good came from all our hard work.

Well, today must have been `stay at home day` here as well. :o

NOT a lot of people turned up at the sale today, although someone said it was busier today than last year - hate to have seen it last year then :p. We made the grand sum of £35 profit !!! DD said that it was still £35 LH didn`t have before - optimistic child, oops sorry young woman.

The only stalls doing a roaring trade were the cats protection people who were organising the sale, as they had a bottle stall, tombola and tea and cake tables.
Still, we did better than the poor girl at the next table to us. She was selling hand made jewellery and told us she`d only taken in £8.50 - and she spent £10 on ours !!!

Comfort food will be needed now to cheer self up a bit ;) off to get the crisps, pop and Thorntons toffee out and sit in front of the telly - probably a load of tripe on - with the wool and needles.

Watch out for the witchies and ghosties.
