  • PMSL laughing...yup kinsey the chest IS impressive but alas resembles an old African womans rather than Jordan lol!! Isoke likes it though as do friends children whose mummies have miniscule cleavages - one just shoves his hand right down t stay warm...fine unless youre in church lol!!!
Re the blanket...I did try the pattern but my hooking kept getting a bend in it - bit like a very large smile!! aghhhh...I'm tempted to knit one but really wanted to do a crochet one as quicker so if someone could give an indiot proof pattern I would be hugely grateful...
Hugs those that need them! Looked at the blog miol- a bit TOO much crochet for me (I know...a shame to the hooking communty arent I!)....

    Morning all,:hello:
Have just spent an hour sorting wool and patterns out for different things I want to do and thought you might like to see the colour run for ripple blanket number 3 :D
I am doing a 2 row change again this time, it does look better than the 4 row I did for Mum's (pic on Wooligans) which looks nice (used colours I know she likes :shhh: its a surprise) but I dont think it's as effective as the 2 row.

    wooligans001.jpg

It's only small about 30 ish trebles wide, the actual blanket is 195 tr wide.
I have to do it like this or I forget which colours I have decided on :o even though I do a cardboard template with bits of the colours on, which keeps going walkabout

    :hello:May

mrs-moneypenny - just had a look at the edging you have done for the flag, any chance of the pattern please :D

Welcome to you Knitty you will love it here anything you want to know just ask there is always someone around to help

Chalky - love your blanket, colours are really nice, I see we have similar choices on some :D I think I might just have a ripple addiction I no sooner finish one and I am off on another :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Downtime later so I will get cracking on one of my UFO's, the bag is bursting at the seams so need to empty it ;)
Off for a quick read through and then make OH a :coffee:

  • hi all
    welcome to knitty

pippa i got it out of a book i got from the libary and luckily ive renewed it as heres the pettern i used

    picot edging
    cast on 6 stitches
    row 1. k1, K2tog, yo, k2, yo twice, k1
row 2. k1, k into the front and back of the yo twice (thats so you get 2 new stitches not 1 big loop) k2tog, yo, k3.
    row 3. k1, k2tog, yo, k5
    row 4. cast off 2 stitches, k2tog, yo k3.

repeat these 4 rows till you have the length you need.

i hope that makes sense ive added the bit in brackets but im sure you knew why that was.

im off to work in a bit but if you have any problems give me a shout on here or a pm and ill see if i can help.

    hope all are well

Hi all, just a quick shout while having a sandwich and cuppa before the shutdown.

Maytaurus and Kinsey - your parcels arrived this morning and everything is absolutely smashing. I would buy loads of the stuff if I was shopping, so I hope everyone is as impressed tomorrow. My biggest problem is pricing everything - I wouldn`t have had this trouble the first time as things were going to be tombola PRIZES, but now I`m actually trying to sell them and having problems deciding how much to charge. Don`t want to overcharge and be left with too much, but want to make as much money as possible for LH. Decisions, decisions. Will maybe ask people how much they would be willing to `donate` and if it seems too low say - well I was hoping for a bit more than that ? and see if that works. ;) Will just have to play it by ear on the day.

Had a read through the last few days posts, and trying to control my ENVY - you lucky people able to escape to warmer sunnier climes - hurry up and get the Knitters Retreats up and running so that we can all come and enjoy them. A natter of knitters ??? not sure about the crocheters, have to think about that one.

Good to see that the poorly ones are improving, and hopefully things are settling down for you Shaz.
Been looking at all the links from Maytaurus and the rest of you, and have come to the conclusion I will have to live to be about 250 to get everything I want to do actually done. And by then there will be soooooo many more patterns found - guess I`ll have to become immortal

Finished off a scarf in the bobbly wool I bought from Lidl, bit of a nightmare trying to get it cast off. Not sure if I`d bother with it again tbh.....think I prefer `normal` unbobbly wool. Try anything once though.

Right off to do some more bits for tomorrow or I`ll still be at it come midnight - SOMEONE ( R in the G ) suggested making bookmarks  so off to see if I can dig out the laminator - DD might do them this evening if I ask nicely.

    Enjoy your `free time` this afternoon.(no forum time :o)

    Hi everyone

Jean - I've just voted! Thanks for posting and asking us to vote - she will be a worthy winner. We've had no rain for a few days but the forecast for next week looks pretty grim for most of us! It's been cold first thing and last thing, but great during the daytime.

PSSO - like you, I don't think I'll live long enough to do all the things I want to do, or to use up all the wool in my stash!

Pippa - that ripple is looking gorgeous! I love all the different colours.

Mrs Moneypenny -thanks for your kind words about my blog!

Chalky - hope DD arrived safely and that you are having a great time with her. Did she like her Pudsey?

Well, I'm trying to get some more poppies done but spent half of yesterday humping furniture about - it looks like my computer will be going into the room that DH has been working on. There has been so much dust (from taping and joining instead of plastering -the joins need sanding down and that's where the dust has been coming from! It's made me feel quite unwell because I suffer with my chest, so DH has said he won't do it any more!). We spent a couple of hours just damping it all down and washing the floors - with me wearing a mask! The new room is now completely dust free so we just need to move everything around and get it organised.

Things were interrupted again by DH's finger. The stitches should have dissolved by how and his finger was still tender (well, he should have rested it, shouldn't he?), so we ended up back at the hospital where it was opened up again, treated and dressed, and with another prescription for more antibiotics (another €78, which we'll get most of refunded through the system, but still a shock to have to pay at the time!). Anyway, let's hope that's the last visit!

Jean - we are still waiting for our Carte Vitales - they just don't seem to think anything is important here, do they? They keep asking for things that we've already given them, so I think things have been mislaid. We were still waiting for our d'immatriculation numbers (five months after visiting them!) but, luckily, during all these visits to the hospital, I discovered that they have a CPAM agency in the actual hospital, so I called in and they gave us our numbers straightaway from the computer! Now, why couldn't they do that at the main office - I've asked often enough?!!

Anyway, rant over - I know Jean will understand!

We were Skyped by DS2 and his little family. The baby, Summer, is looking really scrumptious and we were rewarded with lots of smiles and giggles from her. She looks really well and bonny and her parents are completely in love with her!

Well, what with the poppies, DGS's blanket, and a mohair scarf I've just started for a Christmas present, I have three things on the go - just want a good day when I can just sit and crochet with nothing else to do, but it just ain't happening round here! I did manage to finish another scarf yesterday and will take a photo of it later. That's another present done!

    Well, off for another cuppa.

    Morning all,

Pippa love the colours in your blanket, and what a good idea for remembering the sequence, I shall steal that idea.

psso good luck with the stall, I hope everything goes well and you make lots of money.

Jean I've voted, fingers crossed she wins.

mioliere sorry to hear about OH's finger, what a nuisance, but men will not listen to good advice will they?

    hugs to everyone, xxx
