Orkney Star - thanks for that great link. Quite a project! Don't wait too long before seeing the doctor - you've been feeling unwell for quite a while now, haven't you?

I've just been on the Berroco site and there are some free patterns here http://www.berroco.com/item_fr/fr_children.html

  • Hello, I'm still here and fit and well!!! I do come on every day and read what everyone is getting up to, just don't always post. Things are a bit calmer here now, sister is getting better so doesn't need quite as much support and mam had a nice holiday and came back refreshed and ready to take over. So more knitting and dancing of course, is now on the cards. Have already started on a cardigan for LH challenge and will probably do some squares and poppies next.

Orkney Star - do you still have a sore throat? it couldn't by any chance be a quinsy could it? I had these a few years ago and there an abscess on the tonsil - not very pleasant. Having my tonsils out finally sorted mine - although I had a lot of them in a short space of time.

Kathy - THANKS FOR YOUR CONCERN.

  • Yes well done for noticing missing people mol...I'm still trying to get to grips with people!! Spnt the eve doing the rest of mitten and have stopped at the frill which I'll do tomorrow night...discovered a bit I dont like...the cast on from picking p stitches is a mare in my book!! Looks good though but next time will cast off looser! Isoke has been helping...help ( tape measure, chew needles and play catch as I knit!), then snooze and start to pay when reinvigorated by snooze! Have also discovered (as has she!) that I tend to wiggle my toes when knitting so she also had fun catching the toes...u til she REALLY bit and then got a telling off!! She also loves tail chasing!!
Knitting group tom am and made foolproof/yummychoc brownies ( friend has a yummy, cheap, foolproof recipe if anyone wants it..not necc off topic as could be argued that kntting calories?!!)...sleep tight all!

    Good morning everyone.

Orkney Star - hope you're feeling better today.

ISOM - my Louis is just the same, right down to thinking my toes are there for him to play with! I noticed yesterday that, if he gets hold of a tail of wool, he chews right through it and breaks it off, so I'm being extra careful in case he swallows a piece. He pinched the first poppy I crocheted and ran off with it so, rather than take it off him when he was enjoying himself so much, I tied the ends of wool off and he spent hours playing with it. I think I will make him a red and black mouse now! I find the tape measure is the best distraction for him! Good luck with the group and I'm sure we'd all love the brownie recipe, please!

This afternoon we are off to see the mayor of our main town here for a 'new arrivals' reception and aperitifs, so I'd better dig out something smart to wear - don't want to let the UK down! I will take my camera, too, because we are being shown around the town.

I'm pleased with the poppies I've made so far, but I'm using a crochet pattern I posted a link to yesterday; for some reason I get in a muddle with the Sun Room pattern and can't seem to get the three separate petals - I'll have another go later and post the problem I'm having in the hope that someone can help me!

Anyway, I'm off for a surf while I have my second cuppa.

    Hi there,
Thanks for the well wishes, I AM feeling a lot better today.....just the cough that is remaining. Still not wanting to overdo it so I don't start feeling ill again (thats what happened on Tue!), but quite hard to relax with a 2 year old!
Will pop on later and read all the posts properly, for now, hugs to anyone who is struggling.
