EARLIER POEMS He did but float a little way Adown the stream of time, With dreamy eyes watching the ripples play, Or listening their fairy chime; His slender sail Ne'er felt the gale; He did but float a little way, And, putting to the shore While yet it was early day, Went calmly on his way, To dwell with, us no more! No jarring did he feel, No grating on his vessels keel; A strip of silver sand Mingled the waters with the land Where he was seen no more: Oh stern word - nevermore! Full short his journey was; no dust Of earth unto his sandals clave; The weary weight that old men must, He bore not to the grave. He seemed a cherub who had lost his way And wandered hither, so his stay With us was short, and t’was most meet That he should be no delve in earth's clod, Nor need to pause and cleanse his feet To stand before his God: Oh blest word – evermore! Loved the words this morning - very funny - top form May! Bread n dripping is a generational thing me thinks - not a thing went to waste and generations grew up on it! I wasnt one of them tbh and cant imagine anything more gross!! Except fried bread...yeugh!
Lol re a little of what you fancy...my granny (now gone home) used to pinch waiters bums and when told "you cant do that" responded "I'm 89 I can do what I like!"...same for people who got in the way of her wheelchair - she would give them a light kick and smile innocently when they glared...!!!
Yes may feeling ok...very up and down at the moment so lovelyto have a good day...Isoke makes a huge difference and is sitting happily in the crook of my arm as I type. Much to be thankful for...

Hi everyone.
ISOM - what wonderful words.
Maytaurus - loved the jokes! Thanks for posting them. I am also so pleased you found the crochet surprise jacket pattern. I've been yearning for the knitted one but can never find a free version. I don't know how you find these things - you're a star!
Well, I've cleared yet more dust away ready for our lunchtime visitors and will just have a go at one of the poppy patterns while waiting for them to turn up. First of all, another cuppa I think!

Maytaurus - thank you for your kind words.
I have never heard of a baby surprise jacket so I just googled it. I think I'll give the knitted one a go, it looks amazing.0 -
