Morning Jean
I've seen both these links but ...
am I just being dim .. as I could see all the info on the wiki baby one, but no pattern?!? ... if you click on printed version on the left of the 'wiki' page it takes you to a page with loads of info & if you scroll down you'll find the 'kiwi' link
There's some other nice patterns on there as wellThe object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane — Marcus Aurelius0 -
I've just found those two too. I've printed off the megan.kiwi jacket so when I've got a bit of time I'll give it a go.0

Morning All
just finished my yummy, naughty breakfast, need to stay fat free for the rest of the day, but I did enjoy it!
Maytaurus - no Hun your not being dim, the wiki site only has notes referring to the BSJ pattern. As far as I can tell the only way to get the pattern is to locate one of the Elizabeth Zimmerman books, a copy of one of the magazines its been printed in or from http://www.schoolhousepress.com/patterns.htm current price for the printed pattern $10 + $4.75 p&p, for this you get 3 versions - Adult, Baby & Child.
I found more info once upon a time, I'll have a look for it, meanwhile I recommend you look at the http://megan.kiwi.gen.nz/BabyJacket/ site as at least its free.:T
ISOM - thanks for the lovely words.:heartsmil
'bye for now

I've found the books on Amazon but I haven't been able to find out which book has the full instructions. I found a copy of Knitting Without Tears on ebay and I sent a question to the seller to see if it contains the pattern. The book is cheaper on Amazon.0

The BSJ Pattern is in these 2 books:
Knitting Workshop by Elizabeth Zimmermann
The Opinionated Knitter by Elizabeth Zimmermann.

Thanks prfungi. They are both really expensive books everywhere I've looked. I think I was being optimistic in hoping the pattern would be in Knitting Without Tears which is much much cheaper.0

Have you tried your local library?
If they haven't got it in, they will order a copy for you :j

Hello everyone and thanks for all the info and links on the BSJ - I like the Megan version as well as the crochet one, so I shall have to try and do both! The EZ one I've tried to find free before but without success, but the Megan one looks just as good.
Well, I've had a lovely day with DH's auntie (she's only a couple of years older than me so doesn't act like a traditional auntie! Took her to see the medieval quarter here, and then on to our one and only charity shop (where I bought, you've guessed it, some wool! Two new balls of a lovely soft blue mohair, and two new balls of a really rich autumny gold, a sort of thick crochet thread, so they will do for two Christmas ruffle scarves, I think. They only charge 50 cents a ball - the cheapest place I've found over here!) DH's auntie bought a beautiful thick double bed sized Aran throw; it's really gorgeous and she was thrilled to pay only €5 for it.
It's even been quite warm today, at long last, although with the clocks going back this weekend (same as UK, I think?), it will soon feel wintry again.
Pam - Pam's Pal's family is still very much in my thoughts.
Has anyone heard from LCWilson or Linedancerann recently - there are others, too, who have been MIA for a while. I hope you are all alright?
Anyway, dinner's on so I'd better go.
