If the day looks kinder gloomy
And your chances kinder slim,
If the situation's puzzlin'
And the prospect's awful grim,
If perplexities keep pressin'
Till hope is nearly gone,
Just bristle up and grit your teeth
And keep on keepin' on.
And get on with that knitting/crochet

Good morning all - I finally woke up at what is a good time for me! I've been waking up so late these last few days that it seems half the day has disappeared once I've cleared up the breakfast things. At least it's warmed up a bit here, although that's down to the rain, I think. It was pouring down when I went to bed last night, and it's still pouring down now, so has probably been going all night. I think it's all part of the same band of rain I saw on the forecast for the UK last night.
My knitting and crochet (and spending time on here!) have suffered these last few days which I think is because DH is at home kicking his heels because he can't do much while his finger is still healing. He's been like a restless toddler! The hospital doesn't need to see him again so, when the antibiotics have finished at the end of the week, we're hoping he can get stuck into something a bit more constructive. Today, he can start painting all the walls he has plastered - we found some washing-up gloves in a size large enough for him, so he can wear one on his injured hand - so I think he'll be more occupied now for a few days!
Anyway, all I've managed to do is a few rows on DGS's lapghan but I'm going to sort out some red wool and try some poppies - the lapghan is in the crochet ripple pattern which I'm finding a bit tedious at the moment. I'm loving how it's turning out, though.
Like someone else mentioned here, I struggle with the LH site and can't find the latest challenges - I shall go back and have another look in a minute, after I've gone back through all the last few days posts on here - I'd hate to miss anything!
Have a great day. I hope to pop in more often once I've attached DH to his paintbrush!

I have the borders knitted on the baby jacket that will be going to one of the pregnant mums at church. Knitted them up while watching 7 days on the Bread Line. Have the hood to do, then it's just the making up etc.
Going to start something for a charity, don't know what? Haven't done much knitting for charity before. Did some little jumper things for Oxfam years ago, but not much more than that. Can anyone give some suggestions?
I saw some posts here about knitted parcels being sent to someone on this board. Do you have a place where stuff can be sent, then posted off to a charity?? If so, what is the knitteds that are being made and posted off ?

Hi Jean - yeah but, no but, yeah but - I thought the health service here wasn't like that! I'm also going to have to visit CPAM yet again - they are taking so so long - almost six months now! I know, I should be used to it but will never again go without something to keep me occupied!
