ALWAYS POOR, thankyou for your kind comments on my work, I think I have a few years head start on you.

Nah, I can't use that excuse unfortunately! I would say that I'm fairly accomplished and can tackle almost anything, I've been knitting for over 40 years (gosh that makes me sound v old - I was in primary school when my mother taught me HONESTLY) but lost a bit of interest when my children got bigger and everything took so long. But I just think you're knitting looks especially beautifully neat and even.

Oo-er, just pressed the spam button by accident trying to move the page across. I've pressed the not spam button to correct it so hope we won't all be closed down

    Apologies, everyone!

I'm at work and just logged onto this while I'm eating my lunch. I hope you all realise how jealous you make me, even if you do have ironing to do. No wonder I can't keep up with you all! :rotfl:

Maytaurus - I think the squares for LH are 6 inches.

Just started knitting again since the move, Pudsey bear needs sewing up (don't like that part) & also some hedgehogs.

I might try some of the poppies for LH, I just need to keep an eye on the postage costs, not sure what the restrictions & costs are from Spain, don't want the charities ending up paying to receive the items through my ignorance!!

    Keep those needles/hooks busy.... xx

Hi, is this thread for any knitting questions or is there somewhere else you can direct me to?

My dd asked me to knit a hat for my dgs so I told her to get anything over 4ply - and she turned up with a ball of Double Chunky that uses 00 size needles! I've not got needles that size, and no patterns. Can anyone help me on the pattern side. Ive seen a hat I was going to do, but it was in double or chunky knit in the round with one seam straight across with tassles at each end a bit like this one.

Do you think it would be ok? And do I need 00 size needles to do it.

    Thanks for your help.

Sorry Margaret not too sure on that and I would hate to give you the wrong advice

Can anybody help me. I sent a parcel to Loving Hands just before I left the Uk with parcels to go. In all the rush I mislaid the tracking number =. I have emailed and texted Lou to see whether it arrived ( It was all my Summer things ) but no reply. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find the details on the Loving Hands site to see the photos of the latest donations as I might be able to see it there . Thanks

Lou is packing christmas boxes all day today, and starting yesterday has been shipping out stuff to the charities and to the knitters. She hasn't had time yet to add the photo's - she opened boxes over the weekend. Yesterday it was the Kelty meeting, so I assume that as soon as she gets a bit of free time the photo's will be onto the website. For the meeting yesterday and ALL the parcels that she has received over the last couple of weeks. Would be under Donations and countdown or perhaps Autumn challenge, soon as they appear I will give you a heads up - ok hope you have sunshine - its poured all day here.
Margaret - am no great knitter so decline to answer on the grounds that I would get you into a right pickle BUT someone really smart will be along shortly and I bet they can help
