I think the new LH challenges are excellent :j and of course the military theme is of special significance for me

    Just added info to #143

What size squares are people making for the giant Union Jack ?

Good luck finding a nice person to share your space
I think there will be lots of kitten lovers in the queue if you make sure they see a picky of Isoke!mioliere
Glad to hear your D’s finger is healing well, sometimes antibiotics can have awful affects on people, there’s only one that I can have, I’m allergic to all the others so everyone just hopes I never need them
I thought I’d mention it as some of you might get them, be really ill & not realise it’s the antibiotics,
I didn’t know what was wrong with me the 1st time it happened
Good idea there from Pippa.S ‘hope OH's finger is better now, I expect the ceiling will be down soon if it is
If I was you I would go visit Jean til all the mess is over with ’
Your blog is getting better all the time, love the photos

yes, I think your right, it’s the best idea to use the magic loop for the poppy centres
It’s great for making toys isn’t it?
I wish even more now that the LH challenges are here, that I had a couple of knitting spiders spider.gif
As I would like to do loads of items

Pleased to hear your cat is safe & sound! yay.gif
I haven’t got cats but DD & DS1 & Dil have both got 2 along with all our other furry friends
They never really go off their property but I always think it’s a worry & that’s the main reason I haven’t got any,
as I would have them indoors or on a leash & the family say I’m mad (which is true of course) but I get to spend time theirs so I don’t lose out!

    Those squares are beautiful !
Can’t wait to see the finished item, is it for something special?

I know how you must have felt when your Mum didn’t want to go out
    hugs_6.gif

Has your mum got dementia/ alzheimers?
    I truly hope not but
It’s a hard fact to accept that ‘Every 70 seconds, someone will develop Alzheimer's’
One of the symptoms is Withdrawal from work or social activities(not wanting to go out )
‘‘ ... the tell tales signs were that the sociable man that I had met, good debater in politics or history, reading very interested in books, suddenly didn't have any more interest in this sort of things, didn’t want a social life, or socialise, didn't want to go out or do anything, he didn't know what to do, he didn't want to help in the garden, didn't want to help in the house...’’
    This quote is taken from here;
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/headroom/transcripts/rr_alzheimers_txt.shtml
    Also this Alzheimer's Disease film
This guide gives an introduction to Alzheimer’s disease and information on reducing your risk of
    developing dementia.
    http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/headroom/alzheimers.pdf
As most peeps will know my Mum has Vascular dementia & Alzheimer’s, it’s such a cruel disease and so hard to even recognise in the early stages
Hope no one minds me posting this
I just thought it might be useful for someone either now or in the future
Thanks for the link ... sooo cute!

morning all - sorry that i have been mia for a while, but preparing for brother and SILs arrival, only to find that plans have changed. SIL arrived yesterday, we spent the day together (and she left her suitcase here for me to fill today) and brother arrives at 6.30 tomorrow morning - guess who is going to meet him at the airport? thats right - everyone else in the world is going to be sleeping while i am on the way to heathrow!

anyway, madly trying to finish squares and christmas presents. was suffering deeply from hot water bottle cover envy (after reading one of the blogs) and decided that i had to make one, that took a couple of days. however, it was successful and now DH also wants one - so he is getting one as a christmas present.

other than that, its a load of ironing for me as the ironing pixies didn't turn up last night while i was asleep, and after that the housework and the gym. after that i think i will deserve a little hour or two of crochet.

isom - i think that it is for the best that this lodger lodges elsewhere, i am sure that the next one will stay for ages. well done on the crochet, it looked very good to me.

pam, those poppies looked great to me.

well done everyone else one the great work, you all amaze me - how do you knit so fast and so beautifully? oh well maybe i should get a few lessons.

have a lovely day all - and before i forget, welcome to all newbies, the more the merrier - it just feels like i have made more lovely friends.

will try to post a few pictures of my WIP later today ...

Hi everyone - late again for me, I didn't want to get out of bed because it's soooo cold - maybe it's just me because DH isn't feeling the cold like I am. We're off to outpatients this morning to get DH's finger looked at. Hopefully, it's healing well and will be back to normal soon.

Anyway, must dash - we have to leave soon.

I'll call back later. Oh, and I must check out LH's latest challenges. I looked the day they were due to be posted but there was a delay and I keep forgetting to check. You lot have reminded me!

Pam - your poppies are gorgeous.

    Maytaurus - great post!

Good morning to one and all! Lovely to be back in the loop and catch up with everyone. I really miss you all when I an MIA !!

Thanks for kind comments re lapacuddlys. We have some wonderful little people in our lives ( We have to borrow tham at the moment as no Grandchildren as yet) But borrowing is fine. So I am making them all one and I am going to tuck a favourite book and maybe a little ummmm hedgehog!!! in the middle so they feel all snuggled.

Hope ll the poorlies soon feel tip top.

Lots of gentle thoughts to all those who need one. As days go by things don't necessarily get better they just alter. I look back and think about the loved ones I cant give a hug to anymore but I am so grateful for all the happy memories that travel with me every day.Wouldn't it be lovely just to be able to have them back for one day and share a few more special times.

Pam those poppies are wonderful. I love poppies in fact I never realised how much I love red.

Well still hooking here. Then going to finish Pudsey. Then must get back to some charity work.

Off for our gardening morning this morning. DOH bought his bike back and has cyled and I am driving the Suinshine Bus-- Got to do it ! GOT TO DO IT!!

    Have lovely days everyone.
Try and do a good deed every day.

    morning all.

dpixie, ironing pixies didn't turn up here either, little beggars, where've they got to? Have fun with your brother, they're nice people aren't they.

ISoM glad to hear Isoke's tummy is better. Why does lodger barge into your room, especially as she doesn't like cats. Better luck next time.

    love to everyone xxx
