Hi everyone - we've had a thunderstorm here this afternoon so I had to disconnect my Livebox in case I lose it like I did in the last storm here! I'm only just catching up on things on here. The weather is alternating between brilliant sunshine and thunder and lightning that starts all of a sudden. The farmer next door says we will have two days of this then back to the good stuff, so I'm not going to complain as long as summer reappears on Friday!

Salome - your post was so moving; thanks for sharing it with us.

With the internet off for the afternoon, besides helping with the fascinating task of woodworm-treating, I just had to sit and crochet (oh, such a chore!) and I've started another square from my new book. I hope to finish it this evening, then will have the hard task of choosing another one.

Anyway, I hope everyone is having a good day.

ISOM - hope your headache goes soon.

Pippa - glad Jan's OH is doing well.

    Morning all

Its a bit dull here today after the lovely few days we have had, it is easier working outside when it's a bit cooler though :)
Off to the garden centre later to get a few bits for in the top border that I dug out last weekend. I left it a few days for the soil to settle, I must get a bag of top up to dig in before planting it up.

DS1 came up yesterday he is staying with us until Thursday as he is working in Derby so he uses us as a base. He was in Montpellier(sp)? last week in France, he said it was a lovely place.

salome - your post was so sad, I think you are a lovely person so kind and caring (((hugs)))specially for you and good luck with all the things you are planning

PTB - sorry :o I keep meaning to ask for your address so I can sponsor you will you PM me please.
I met a lovely lady named Mary on a cruise to the Greek Islands in 2008, we just hit it off from the start and kept in touch via e'mail. She was ill while we were away but did'nt know just how ill.By the time she was diagnosed it was too late and she sadly died with Pancreatic cancer a few weeks later. It was so sad

May - yes I really must remember to use word, I have done a couple of times but my memory just lately keeps going walk-about :rotfl:

I finished the little blue jumper I was doing for DIL's neice's baby and I started on a little cardi last night, so will get them washed and wrapped up in readiness for the happy event in August.
Can't believe I am in advance of something ;)

MIL had the camera down her throat yesterday and they sedated her so she was quite happy when it was all over with, said she never felt a thing. She is now on a 24hour heart monitor which was put on yesterday PM.

Right better go get sorted and off to garden centre might pop back later
    Have good days all

Lovely post, Maytaurus, and thanks for the info about Lou's fundraising for her new HQ. I will make a donation to such a good cause. Great links for wool, too! Hope you have a good day today.

Pippa - your poor MIL, but great that she didn't have to feel any pain or discomfort.

It's a bit cool and dull here today, and it's just started raining, so a real difference from the last few days.

DH is currently drilling through a two-foot thick wall to put a cable into the conservatory from the kitchen for lighting. The noise is horrendous - I'm beginning to think perhaps we could do without the lighting! Still, no ladder-climbing involved, I'm glad to say.

I had every intention of getting some crochet done last night, but we settled down to watch a film and I slept through the entire thing, with my crochet on my lap! Better luck this evening, I hope!

Mrs Moneypenny - I'm so glad your DS is healing well.

Well, off to think of something for lunch.

    Hello all!
Just been catching up on the last few pages - the new look was a bit of a shock but I'm getting used to it and starting to like it - and thanks for all the kind messages.
I'm back in Cardiff now and WAS taking it very easy re washing unpacking etc but now I have rellies visiting on Saturday afternoon so I have to do some serious tidying and cleaning.
Still waiting for the Dr to get back to me with suggestions for meds following my latest batch of blood tests, which showed that due to various nasties coating certain cells I'm not coping with free radicals at all, which could explain a lot of the tiredness and lack of energy, although I'm not sure about the pain.
Anyway, nice to be back, and my cat is very happy, but very shattered and doing things in little bursts of about 15 minutes at a time. Concentration is terrible but generally I am determined to keep going and clean up and then start making some real plans for the way I live my life. I've decided that I have drifted for too long - being away has opened my eyes to quite a few things like that.
Hope that your Mum is feeling better ISOM.
MAY - take it easy, the sunshine is cheering but the heat can be debilitating!
Love to all and well done on all your achievements against the odds of life, health and fate!

Welcome back, Seakay! Hope you hear back from the doctor soon.

K2tog - have pm'd you with Mrs Twins' addy!

Had to disconnect again due to another thunderstorm so have not been online much today - it still looks thundery up there so I'll probably unplug everything again! I would hate to lose the Livebox like I did in the last storm - trying to get anywhere with France Telecom and Orange is a real challenge!

Anyway, I hope to stay awake long enough to get another square done tonight.

Hope you all have a lovely evening.

Sock-knitter - have pm'd you with Mrs Twins' addy and to confirm that the squares she is collecting are 6".

Well, I'm hoping for a thunderstorm-free day today! We shall see - the skies look a bit threatening at the moment.

I completed a square from my new book last night; for anyone who has the book (200 Crochet Blocks by Jan Eaton) the square called the Chocolate Box looks complicated but is really easy!

Hope everyone had a good day, especially all those who are MIA.
