I've just seen all the pictures of the lovely things that you all knit on the Preemies website. They are all beautiful. I've got some cardis to send to Shezmit.
I read somewhere that 4ply blankets are needed for very tiny babies but they should not be too big or heavy. I think there was a specific size. I can't remember where I saw this. Does anyone have a suitable pattern please?
Thanks0 -
Thank you so much for all your lovely welcome back greetings.
I think I must have a hidden,or perhaps not so hidden personality disorder because I am so chuffed when I get mention by name here. On reflection I think it must be a throwback to P.E lessons and that dreaded line and you were last to be chosen
I was so short I was no use to man nor beast in the Netball team. So when the P.E teacher chose the stars to be team leaders and the rest of you were lined up on the wall and they took it in turns to choose their teams my heart used to sink!!
Just to show I did not waste that long journey, a picture of the "hooking!" as I was watching the miles go by!Try and do a good deed every day.0 -

Chalky - so good to have you back here, where you belong! I'm glad you had such a good and productive trip. The blanket is gorgeous. Mine is still growing slowly because I have to keep helping Sir work on the house.
Always Poor - the photos are wonderful, aren't they?
Well, I've finally told DH that I have to sit down for half an hour and catch up with 'the girls' on the thread, so here I am. I've been out and about all morning running errands, and trying to fit the housework in at the same time. I shall be so glad when we call a temporary halt to the renovation and settle down to a bit of real living again! The ceiling that was supposed to come down today is now on hold for another day or two - the best laid plans, and all that. I know he wants to get all the messy bits done on this part of the house before the real winter sets in (he's gone insulation-crazy!), and also before he goes back to work, and, TBH, he's working his socks off, so I'm trying very hard not to complain too much!
Anyway, I'm needed at the coal face. Jean (Roamin in the gloamin) tells me her DH calls her Dave when she's being a builder's mate. My new builder's mate's name is Kev!
Lovely blue skies and brillant sunshine here at the moment, but freezing cold first thing in the morning and when the sun goes down in the evening. Don't know what to wear these days! Oh, I know, builders' overalls!
See you later.

Chalky - lovely to see the ripple blanket. It's very pretty. I've been so curious as to what it looked like after hearing about what you and Mioliere were making.0

Shaz - just take a look at one of Maytaurus's tutorials to learn crochet. It's really easy once you know how, and a lot quicker than knitting (says she, who is crawling through her ripple blanket like a snail at the moment!)

What lovely stuff on here. I love knitting and crochet. I do cross stitch as well, though haven't done much lately. I also dabble in card making, though again, I've not done so much of that lately either. I've just finished knitting a shaped waistcoat for myself, and a baby jacket and hat for a friends baby. I'm knitting baby stuff at the moment as there are quite a few pregnant women at our church. :-)A work in progress0

Salome -- Isn't life full of wonderful coincidences. On our return to our little house in Spain we have been introduced to a new addition to the neighbours. Baby Salome was born in June whilst we were in England . And she is gorgeous. Her Dad is a Spanish Pastor here called Jesus. So welcome to both Salomes'
Well Shaz that clown is gorgeous. I never cease to be amazed at what wonderful things are made by the lovely people on this thread. As for Crochet you would take to it like a duck to water. "HOOKING" is both addictive and easy and as Kathy says grows so quickly Attic 24 is inspirational
