    May I sneak in and ask a question?
    I'm a lurker and have been trying the patterns posted, been knitting since I was 11 (now 22).
    Is there a very simple baby hat pattern without Purl stitch? My Purl stitch is the same as my knit stitch.

    If I knit every row purl then it looks the same as every row knit...have yyou tried one row knit, one row purl ? Sorry if stating the obvious!
    There are some bootees done in just knit here but I suppose you could follow a simple pattern and just do every row knit ?

    Well done Shelley and all those who sent things for it - amazing total!
    Onlygirl, hope your ds is OK. Can you tell him they forgot to put the magic in the magic cream or something? Poor little fella and poor you - there is nothing worse than your children upset and in pain.
    Parcels2go were fab - will definitely use them again. Dreading the postal strike as have not sent off smoothie hats yet (yes, I know :rolleyes:) and need to send some stuff to Mag in the next couple of weeks. Saw on the news earlier that the strikes will probably go on until Christmas.
    Is it just me, or does anyone else think they are cutting their own throats with strikes at such a busy time for them? They have apparently lost contracts to deliver for amazon, argos and john lewis. Sorry, completely off topic but :confused:.
  • up...nuts esp so clse to Christmas!
    Well done sczmit!! Good on ya - fab totals!
    Sorry read back and wasnt very clear re the cosie!! It was a one pot of tea cosy pattern that I wanted - I saw one at my friends and love it - its a simple pattern (possible could adapt another?) with bow on top and small not sewn up bit for spout and handle...did look on knitting pattern central etc ad saw a lovely funky one on knitty which is felted but not right for this recipient!! Meanwhile found these;

    Hi Lyndach, sneak right in and join the merry band. Lurkers and posters are all welcome here.

    Forgive me for being dense, it`s been a long day and bed is calling, but what do you mean when you say your purl stitch is the same as your knit stitch ? Do you mean you do the same stitch on the `right` side of the work and the `wrong` side ? Do you always just do knit stitches, every row knit (garter stitch) and you`ve never learned how to do purl ?
    Told you I was dense - I`m just trying to work out how best to answer your question.

    HI ISOM, Not too bad today, thanks for asking. How are you getting on with your little pal ?

    Saw you`re looking for a tea cosy - would this be any good ?

    Just had a quick look just now but can have another look tomorrow for some more if you like.

    If you just want an easy blanket pattern how about doing a SANDS type one? All done in knit with a pretty border you can do if you want.

    The white one, not the multi coloured stuff.

    Going off to bed now - hopefully I`ll get some more sleep than last night, cos I need all my enery to cope with the grandkids.

    Shelley - great result with your sale.

    Will catch up properly tomorrow, terrible twosome permitting.:D

    Hi Lyndach,
    I've just popped in before bedtime & saw your post, WELCOME by the way. This link is to a very useful site with lots of "how to" information, which might help you get a bit more confidence with your knitting;
