Welcome home Chalky, glad the journey went ok.

Mioliere it sounds like you're going to have a wonderful week, just what you need for the next stage of the renovation. We had the family here yesterday, GD2 is three and a half and absolutely priceless. I managed to spill some of the dogs water on the floor and of course she had to slip over before I could wipe it up, but she just got up and decided it was a skating rink, did triple salco's and arabesques while singing a Lady Gaga song. That earned her lots of applause. She's wondeful.

ISOM you sound so positive now, it's lovely to hear, hope Isoke is well.

Sock-knitter I know what you mean about the mistake in your lacy knit. Probably no one else would notice but every time you look at it it pokes you in the eye?

maytaurus don't you just love the purplelinda site?

    Love to everyone. xxx

Hugs to all who need them, smiles to everyone...

finally almost got my act together and uploaded pictures of my noahs ark project to imageshack but i can't seem to put the pics on here, only links (sob) - followed the instructions someone kindly gave me before but they didnt work and i am having all sorts of problems even posting on this thread since the server upgrade so here are the links and i will go have a cup of tea and calm down.

Let me know what you think as my "take" on the pattern is a lot more simple and touchy-feely for kids who may have disabilitys or visual issues and more robust for toddlers. I included a pic of the original pattern (including figures and animals i havent made), if anyone would like it you are welcome but i will need some help/ ideas as i have no printer, copier, scanner or blog to put it on (yes, i know i am officialy useless, sorry):

Blackcrow I really like that, I assume the house acts as a storage box for all the bits? Love the look of the farm as well. Where did you get the pattern?

the pattern cost more than I know I should have paid... £15 from ebay (I think another bidder and I were determined but I won) incl. P&P but I totally fell in love with it.

Yup, the noahs ark open up on top and you store the animals inside... there are patterns but its taken me 2 months on and off to just make the box so I will send it off to Loving Hands without the animals unless anyone would like to do the animals to go inside? the original plan was to do it with the animals and auction it off with the money going to Loving Hands charitys but it is all a bit too much for me at the moment as i am so tired working a 40 hr week and after being told i have M.E. a couple of years ago plus rheumatoid arthritis i can only do what i can do.

I also got the farm pattern with it - a rug mat plus smaller house that doesn't open and different animals, as well as a farmer figure and his wife. I thought i could just about manage to do the farmer and his wife and change the costume colours to make them mr and mrs Noah.

I have to admit I have a bit of a thing about noahs arks (i adore them), plus my gt grandad was called noah (pronounced Norr in broad west norfolk accent which is where he was from) and my son's middle name is Noah in honour of that and to please my beloved nan whose dad it was (she cried when i told her what he was to be called and as she died suddenly of a stroke when he was only 5 months old it means something precious and special to me)

oops, waffled on too much, sorry!

Afternoon everyone, hope your Sundays are going well.
Welcome to all the newbies it’s lovely to see so many joining in.:wave:
Jean, those little cots are lovely, you’re so clever.
PTB, glad the wool arrived, hope it’s useful to you.
Sock knitter, glad you got some nice wool from Texere. I ordered some of the Kool Kotton last week (and some mohair and chunky) and can hardly wait for it to arrive.
Shezmit, you’re a lot braver than me, three times! You must be mad! The boob pattern is just right too, thanks.
Salome, hugs and prayers on their way for you and your Dad.
Kathy, have a great time with your family
May, thanks for some more lovely patterns.
Onlygirl, hope your ds is feeling better now.
Isom, sorry your work situation has been delayed, hope it gets sorted out quickly for you.
Chalky, glad your home safe and sound.
Blackcrow, I’m amazed at that ark pattern, it’s absolutely brilliant! I really like the colours in your Oxfam jumper too.

I’ve been missing my ripple blanket, so decided to start a cushion cover the same and it’s nearly done, made a few more boobs and crocheted a few more squares for mrs twins. I treated myself to 200 crochet blocks and 200 knitted squares books last week while they were on offer, so I’m hoping to learn a few more crochet techniques now.

((Hugs)) for everyone who feels down or ill just now
    and love to everyone

Hi all, been having a few `off` days so haven`t felt like posting I`m afraid. Poor little Jayden has almost drowned several times when he`s been on my lap for feeding or just a cuddle :o

Glad to see that you`ve made it home safely Chalky, and you must be dancing with joy Kathy to have your family with you for a week. Lots of cuddles for you I`ll bet. Just the thing to set you up for the next round of renovations :)

Jaqui there are lots of patterns for capes amongst the poncho patterns

Saw Maytaurus`s post but skipped past it - looked as if it was a pic of me, scary stuff - going to have a cuppa and look at the links now while it`s quiet here. DD and little man both asleep for the mo`.

Just popping in as off to snooze....had a lovey lunch (roast beef, yorks and banoffee cheesecake for pud nommy!) and Ive got that lovely sleepy feeing.
Love the LH challenges...have a packet to send to her and will try to do this with the pink parcel!
Am trying to make the best of a horrendous situation Kinsey; its been 8 months (and 1 day) now and even for a glass half full person its tough going. Thankfully I have fantastic friends, mum and church community who have shown me SO much love and support that its impossible to feel unloved or uncared for. Its touched my heart in a way that I could never have imagined or hoped for...
On that note sending some by computer to people who feel low/exhausted/in pain/grieving etc....two things keep me going in the dark moments; This too shall pass and God has a cunning plan!! Dont know what it is but know hes a very good planner!
Blackcrow LOVE that noahs ark! I too have a soft spot for him!
