    morning all you lovely ladies

hope that you are all well and have loads of time for all those lovely crafty things that you are doing.

kathy, hope that you have not spent too much money on all those things for your house, but if you have, don't worry about it, its what we do, isn't it.

sock-knitter - hope that you had another good nights sleep.

chalkey, welcome home (in a few days) i am sure that your local postie is going to wish that you didn't go away in the first place! i too have some squares for you, so let me have your address and i will post them - they are a mixture of knitted and crocheted, hope thats okay.

isom - thanks for the recommendation, it really does help to have another opinion. well done too on the blanket. i think that you are very brave taking on something like that - whenever i sew anything up, i just despair as my sewing is just too horrible for words. my hubby now has a saying ... "get a lesson" as i even take hems either to my MIL or to the tailors as i have no clue.

jean, you operate quite the sweat-shop in northern france, i am impressed with your output, perhaps you can tell us your secret?

oh well, its time for some french homework and then off to the post office to post some baby things to my brother in south africa for his new baby Alessandro.

have a warm and sunny day if you can, and if you are in scotland, stay indoors with some yarn and a lovely cup of tea as they have forecast some snow up your way!

morning all, slept well again last night, and the first one in ages without alcohol :) yesterday i treated myself to a book called, compendium of knitting techniques, and read some of that before bed. no patterns as such, but lots of tips and useful information.
j is still off school, so today we haev made a deal, this morning we are going to textere, a lovely woolen yarn in bradford, that stocks some really gorgeous yarn, and if he behaves, he's allowed to get his bike out this afternoon.
has anybody seen the knitted dogs in clintons, called boofles?, if anybody knows where i can find a free pattern, i would be most grateful.
hope everyone has a lovely day
    hugs

  • Thanks SGT for the blanket buddy bit, I had to rip back the head last night when I was so nearly finished, obviously I hadn't paid attention on at least two or three rows so it was a bit of a flat head, never mind it has proved that I do need to be on the ball when I knit that bit, haven't read to the end of the pattern either to find out just how it gets stuffed but hey that can be later.
DPIXIE, every spare moment I get I am either on a knitting machine, sewing machine, crocheting etc. In between times I fit in the boring stuff, planting and watering the greenhouse, garden, poly tunnel, sweep the floor, stuff the washing machine etc etc just the normal housewifie things we all manage - I do the cutting out, pattern searching sorting of wool etc at night when the tv here is pants, I will even forego a good book in favour of the sewing machines but then I am in a bit of a rush at the moment, it will all quieten down soon. Have a great day today everybody, doing only the things you WANT to do

    morning all

just back from posting parcel to lou.

    Update
    1 pet blanket
    3 bags of love (empty)
    6 wiggly bags

got the sewing machine out to repair some trousers and ended up adding a few items to my LH parcel before posting:rotfl:

managed to finish knitting rabbits other arm and started the dress also sewed the bag handles together (i put petersham inside tthem so they dont stretch) just need to sew them to the bag so hopefully next weeks update should be all my wips finished.

mentioned to the choirboy who walks to school with eldest DS i was finishing off my stuff for the craft stall at the spring fayre and he said oh i think thats cancelled till august now as no one had got anything ready:mad: well we had:mad:. im annoyed on behalf of the kind people on here who had gone out of their way to make items and post them to me. but i can assure you they will be kept safely until the craft stall does run, i will be finding out at the weekend why exactly it has been posponed if it is true.
i suppose on the positive side it does mean that ill have time to get a few more items made and if the fayre is full of planned interesting stalls it should be more profitable than a haistly thrown together affair with only a couple of stalls.

chalky i know youve probally already mentioned it but when and where do we post our chalky sqaures to please?

mrs-moneypenny I've been making a few bits for your craft stall, and not done as much as I wanted to, so August is quite good. Life gets in the way sometimes doesn't it. Funny no-one told you though.

Well done sock-knitter, glad we didn't lose you and glad you managed an "unassisted" night's sleep. Lavender really is fab, isn't it?

I'm still in the unfamiliar realms if rural Essex, and at the moment don't even have reliable Internet so just drove into the nearest town to catch up with my email and with all of you! So don't think that I'm MIA, I'm just wrestling with technology!
Lovely sunny day here so going to mow the lawn - not a favourite task but one that at least has the attraction of the unusual as I don't have a lawn in my pocket handkerchief garden at home.
Last week when I did this I was exhausted afterwards - too tired even to knit - but I'm feeling quite perky today so I'm hoping that the effect will not be so great.
Has Chalky posted an address for her squares yet? I've not noticed one but then I've been a bit of an infrequent visitor lately and so might have missed it.
Well I've love cathing up and seeing all about everyone's projects, but time is at an end now.
    Take care all!

shame they cancelled the stall, mrs moneypenny, but at least we'll have even more time to knit some nice things for you to sell
seakay, hope the gardening dosent leave you exhausted this time, i'e just been getting quotes from local firms to maintain my garden, as it too much for me.
had a lovely time at textere, got myself some sirdar calico, to make a summer top, and some pure wool to make a cardigan in the winter

    Hello to one and all
Well it looks as if we are flying home tomorrow so of course I will be delighted to look at my doormat and see parcels whenever you want to send them.
I am almost tempted just to post my address on here but I think it is best if I send it to you as a Private Message.
So if you need it I will as I speak make sure my message box has plenty of room!!
Jean I bet your blanket will look beautiful so don't worry the are not exactly Chalky Squares. Lou does such wonderful work and I am sure she will find a lovely use for your blanket
    Have nice evenings everybody x
Try and do a good deed every day.
