Can I join you in a little way - I am always full of ideas but never seem to get them finishes so I am hoping being on here will help - I am usually only on the fly-lady threa - Hi SGT!!! - but have a stack of wool that needs to be dealt with and I am loathe to give it away just yet.
Do you do your own things or are you just doing charity things - I would have read through the thread but 4200+ posts will take me too long!!!!
I have seen 'Chalky's squares' on several signatures and always wondered what they were!
hope you dont mind me jumping in.

Hi Toots, it's great to see you across here, hope you manage to get some of your projects completed & I am sure that you will find lots of things to do with your stash. (I must admit I like doing the premature baby items as I can quickly see results). The new 'Loving Hands' challenge starts at the weekend, I believe someone has already posted the link, Lou the lady who runs it is based in Scotland!!.
Sorry everyone I have been AWOL again!! I have been helping a friend for the last couple of weeks too pack as she has moved back to the UK after 30+ years. Today I have managed to knit a little orange 'hedgehog', it still needs stuffing & a face putting on, but some actual knitting at last :j
I have spent most of today looking for a free knitting pattern for a meerkat, I have managed to find one pattern but it is for a 'micro' meerkat & I would prefer something a little larger. (Having said that, it is for a friend & perhaps a micro one could be made to sit on the dashboard of his car, I think I may need to go back & investigate).
Thanks Maytaurus for the brilliant patterns, I think I may need to try a few just to make sure I haven't forgotten how to knit
Hugs to all in need xx'Money and good health is coming easily to Flypeople'0 -
evening all
Been tazzing about a bit for the last couple of days....nothing new there though
Has'nt the weather been lovely  not boiling but lovely and sunny.
Really had a good tidy up in the garden, yanked a few weeds out, cut a few dead heads off the daffs, chopped the tops out of a couple of trees and swept ..and swept.. and swept looks better for it though(hmmm sounds like a demolition site):D. Must admit I tend to neglect it during the winter:o can't stand the cold me, but it just makes it worse when things start poking their heads through in the Spring.
Finished the balaclava, I have fallen out with OH....he said "is it for the incredible hulk" I know it turned out a bit big but there was no need for that;) there's sure to be a sailor somewhere with a (very) large head :rotfl:
Jean - those carry cots are beautiful they will love them
chalky - parcel on the dining room table ready to be posted to you. I will send it on Friday as we go away on Sunday until 6thMay.
PTB - glad I'm not the only one who has objects flying around the room, I usually find them behind the sofa:rotfl:
sock-knitter - glad things are better for you now
kathy - You sure have been busy,It will be lovely having them with you for a while
mrs-moneypenny - my friend knitted a pet blanket as well. I think it's one of the things that are always needed.I always do scarves, sailors hats, cardis and jumpers that are'nt always included in the challenges, but are still needed.
DS1 is staying for a couple of days as he has a job up in Nottingham tomorrow and is going home on Friday, DS2 and DGS came over as well so we had a lovely afternoon.
I have a prem baby cardi on needles at the mo so will finish that off tonight.
Off to make OH a cuppa then settle down in front of the TV for good knit

knitted meerkat patterns, not free but (i think?) quite cheap at less than £3?
apologies for not following on from teaser but life kind of got in the way (and i have been very achy and sleeping lots when not doing a 40 hour working week or housework) so... still havent sorted a pic out but... its a noahs ark with animals - a proper one that is 3D and the roof opens up to store the animals inside... will do my best to sort a pic out soon, sorry again...
hugs to everyone who wants one and a smile (albeit a tired one, lol)

No cure necessary as its best to just accept it and become totally involved!! The one good thing is that symptoms generally only arise every 3 or 4 months!!Try and do a good deed every day.0 -
PTB- can you pm me your addy please?
Managed to make another eight teddies today now all I need to do is sew them up - can't face it tonight perhaps I will feel more like doing them tomorrow.
CONFESSION TIME - I have a load of what I thought were CHALKY SQUARES - well, they are not big enough to be CHALKY SQUARES, I must have dreamed up the size, it wasn't till the other day when I saw a posting with the size on I realised my faux pas. So I shall stitch them all up together (76 of them) and see what I end up with and I will plonk them in one of the LH boxes, which I have so say are filling up nicely, if slowly at the moment. Animal blankets for the remainder of the week done on the knitting machine too and using up all the odds and ends. Talk about feeling dumb - well the cap fits! Off for a hot drink then a soft chair with a bit of knitting I have found the pattern for a rabit blanket budy and will see how I get on with that - seems the head is magic, I will let you know. Night night, hope you all have had a great day.The Hooligan Wooligan – age 9¾

RITG - The rabbit blanket buddy definately has a 'magic' head. When I completed my first one I thought I had done something wrong, (still not sure how you are meant to stuff it's head properly, but I developed my own technique) :rotfl: I have knitted two of these now but they are still WIP, in that their faces need 'creating' & I need to be in the right frame of mind to do them, (I don't want to spoil them). I already have the wool here to knit two more, they are a bit like the hedgehogs - addictive. Good luck with yours!'Money and good health is coming easily to Flypeople'0
