hi all, isom, glad the work situation is going to be resolved soon, and you can put the past behind you and move forward. here in yorkshire it is raining, and while i had loads of plans for housework followed by knitting, joshua is at home. unfortunatly his school caretaker is stuck in portugal, and nobody else there knows how to start up the boiler, and heat the school. hoping they find an engineer or somebody to sort it for tommorrow.
kathy, sounds like you got so much done last week, your house will be lovely when its finished
salome, gentle thoughts to you and your family on this sad day
may, lovely to see you posting again, hope you are ok (((hugs))) i love the moss stitch diamonds blanket to knit and have saved it to my favs
best go now and make some lunch for an always hungry teenager, then off to see my mum this afternoon, and knit baby hats with her, josh will prob attempt to join in too, but always ends up with too many stitches, and some holes, he smiles and always tells us its his own lace design lol
    hugs

Hello, its been a very long time since have been here through one thing or another but hello! I am still knitting and crocheting but life has been a bit busier. I still have a little pile of things to send away which I will get around to sending off. But I have gotten better with my crochet skills managing to make some baby ballet slippers which are very cute...

I will be back again soon but think I will just start with a complete new slate for 2010!

Meantime, I would really like to know what is urgently needed at the moment, if there are any special campaigns ongoing etc?

Thanks all and hope you are all well.

Hi everyone and welcome back to Don - great to hear from you.

Chalky is collecting 8" squares which she is sewing into blankets, Loving Hands have their usual challenges, and we have a lovely new lady in our midst, Mrs Twins (see the post just before this one for details of her blog) who is collecting 6" squares for blankets for the elderly. Shezmit is still collecting for Preemies UK, too.

I am knee deep in renovations at the moment, to such an extent that as soon as I find five minutes to pick up my wool, I doze off! (Yes, Pippa, I am awake - just!) Hopefully, things will calm down soon and I will be able to get more than a few rows done!

We had the most glorious day yesterday - just a shame we couldn't get out and enjoy it apart from mowing the lawn! We would have taken the day off if DS2's visit wasn't so imminent, but I so want it to be nice and dust free, especially for little Summer, that we are working flat out. DH will be insulating and plasterboarding the vaulted ceiling in the dining room today, and I am re-organising my utility room - it's been the dumping ground for all the tools that DH has been using over the last few weeks. We will be taking the whole week off next week to enjoy having family around, and hoping that the weather is good so that we can take days out with them. We are all looking forward to it even more now, considering we didn't think they would be able to get the ferry booked.

Anyway, hope you all have a lovely day.

Off to post the update that Jean completed yesterday.

loved looking through the latest photos lou has posted on LH everyone does such beautiful work. i must get my last parcel of the spring challenge sorted - i need to wash a couple of the little baby blankets before i post them as the wool must have been hanging about a while as the first bit ive knitted looks a bit grubby (where it was on the outside of the ball)
DH and eldest DS decided to produce a load of their trousers that need mending over the weekend so i suppose the sewing machine had beter make an appearace as well this week.

    have a lovely day all
