OK I would love to know who stole my minutes, hours, days in fact my whole week? No one admitting to it, right well in that case I shall blame myself. I have done a fair bit of lurking but shall go and read everything properly when I post this.
I’d like to welcome all the newbies, apologize to the rest of you for being missing in action but believe me I have been in action, now onto my 4th box for LH and I know I will keep at it until there will be no more room in the car.
So lovely to see your posting Pam, it all takes it toll and has been said time, no limit on either of those but nice to know your around.
PIPPA S sounds like Devon was just what you needed in a break away
Dear Dr Chalky seems I have some serious disorders as well, far too many to mention on an open forum, but look like we really all have the same sort of obsessions, well aren’t we the lucky people?
Kathy, I hope by now you have managed to get a ferry booked for your family to come and visit next week, I took all day yesterday attempting my holiday ferry to the UK and back again, well I did eventually manage it YIPEE that’s the end of the good news…bad new is its going out from BOULOGNE and back that way too! So not only do I have the drive from the very South of England to Scotland, I need to do the round tour of France prior to getting on the boatie, about 8 hours me thinks including stops, hey ho, well that’s life so I had better just get on with it.
Shazrobo, keep your chin up girl – there is someone out there awaiting your arrival and if your miserable what kind of message does that send out? I shall be making my own stop in Blackpool for rock as well as any other seaside town I can get to on the way back down to Dover when the hols are finished – can’t fit any rock in on the way as I am certain the car will be packed to the gunwales and not only on the road out. I have already started a “must buy” list, although my sister has refused already my offer of a trip to hobby craft after our last expedition there – she got very fed up and we had only been in the shop 3 hours. Well I never. I shall see Lou at HQ some time over the 3 weeks and I also will be going to the Scottish Knitting only show which is on the 15th May at Scone racecourse Perth if you’re wondering, if anyone fancies going. Well, I shall update my totals on the next post and then get and do some further sewing I think.
Hope the sun is shining in your neck of the woods.

Sorry I haven't been on for a while - sometimes life gets in the way. However, we did manage to have a lovely weekend in York over Easter. It was so nice to relax and wander wherever we felt like going (and of course I took my knitting). Found a lovely little woolshop in the Shambles (called Sheepish) and believe it or not the owner and his wife knew all about our little town and the beaches nearby. He used to be a rep for a wool company and delivered to our local wool shop (sadly now gone). Its a small world.......

Hope everyone is OK, kind thoughts to those who need them. Take care all.

(Will post my update in a separate post - it's for a few weeks work, so don't thing I've been knitting like a demon!!!)

Hi everyone - I'm actually posting even if I have had to get up early to do it, before the power goes off or something equally irritating!

Maytaurus - you really do spoil us, don't you? Thank you for some wonderful links. I'm sorry you've not felt up to posting much - I just wish things were better for you. Thank you so much for taking such time and trouble on our behalf.

Chalky - your DIL's blog is lovely. I am 'following' it with real interest. Lovely photos on there, too. I hope you manage to book your trip back to the UK.

Linedanceranne - good to hear from you.

Jean - glad you managed to find a ferry but what a journey you will have! Please take care on the roads - it sounds like you have a marathon on your hands. What on earth is your sister complaining about - three hours in Hobbycraft is such a short time. (Like I could spend three hours in Halfords or somewhere equally rivetting!)

Pippa - glad you had a great time.

Elaine - hope DD and DGS are both doing well.

Pam - hope you have a good day today.

Well, I've not kept up with the news on here lately - the renovation work on the house has meant that the electrics have had to keep being turned off, or my computer has had to be moved to somewhere that is nowhere near a plug or a phone point. I've really missed coming on here - it's one of the things that keeps me almost sane! I've missed you all, too, but I hope to have more time to post from now on. There is still loads to do here but, for now, that's all on hold while we clean and re-organise the house because - as luck would have it - we finally managed to get through to Brittany Ferries yesterday, after ages trying, and managed to book the sailing that DS2 and his family wanted, so they are coming over on Saturday! I just can't wait, as you can imagine, but I want the place to be spotless and completely dust free, so we have a lot of work to do between now and then. At least we can offer them a lovely bedroom, good bathroom facilities, a comfy sitting room and a working-but-less-than-perfect kitchen-in-progress. They are looking forward to it, too, so it's something to really look forward to. They Skyped last night and I could see that Summer, who is just eight months old, is walking almost unaided - that's the youngest I've ever known a baby to walk, and she looked so cute. She's also saying 'mama', 'dada', and 'baba', too - apparently, she's very vocal and doesn't stop talking! Oh, I just can't wait to have her here for a whole week!

Well, with BIL here last week, a lot of progress was made on the house - he worked flat out with DH and has upgraded the central heating and plumbing for us, as well as a lot of other things. To have someone like him around to help with all the heavy lifting and so on was a real luxury. He's a lovely chap and he and DH are very close, so it was lovely for them to spend time together, too. My nephew was great company and, although he had to occupy himself a lot of the time, he was very very good. Luckily, he hooked up with the neighbours' children for the last couple of days and, as the road outside has been turned from a bumpy track into a smooth road, they spent hours cycling, scootering and roller-blading up and down it, a luxury for the local children - I didn't realise we had so many in the neighbourhood! My nephew's French is amazing and he's taught me a lot! I couldn't get over how affectionate he was towards me - I'm his bestest favourite auntie, apparently! He loves me, my cooking, and my home made bread - what more could an auntie want?! I am really missing him now. We're going to see if he can fly up from his house in the South of France to our nearest airport - then he can travel on his own and come and stay with us in the school holidays. The drive takes eight hours, so it would be great if he could fly, and the journey wouldn't take anywhere near as long.

Anyway, today will be another busy day but so worth it to get the house ready for next week. The weather was wonderful yesterday and DS2 said it was lovely in the UK, too. I really hope it lasts on both sides of the channel.

Jean has very kindly said she will do the update again for me this week, despite being really busy herself. She is wonderful, isn't she? Thank you so much, Jean.

The totals this week are amazing - thank you all so much. I'm barely getting near my wool lately but will make a concerted effort this week - it really does help to keep me calm and serene in a sea of chaos!

Well, off for another cuppa - luckily, DS2 is under strict instructions to bring some more teabags out with him. The PG Tips we brought back with us in February has almost run out - I think we'll just make it!

Will try and keep up with you all from now on.

    Hi
Some lovely serious woolly stuff on show. All that lovely pink :-)
Love the new family edition Shezmit :-)
Start schooling again tomorrow, so last day of my hols :-( Going to put some flowers on my sons grave today, with my eldest baby, then we will go and have a cuppa in a cafe in the town.
Visit to the wool shop in order today :-) Need to get some wool to start a garment for one of the new church babes. Babie no. 3 was born on Saturday, and I have the blanket all ready to give to the new mum :-)
Must catch up on e mails, and blog. All have gone astray lately.
Rottie is healing. After three visits to the vets, he'd had enough, and wouldn't let us anywhere near him with his muzzle !!!!!! Not easy to persuade a Rottie to have his muzzle put on when he doesn't want it, so hubbie resorted to taking a pic of the wound on my digital, and showing that to the vet. She said it looked ok, and gave hubbie a scarple to remove the remaining stitches !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????? I'm afraid hubbie didn't think that a good idea, as Rottie wouldn't let anyone within touching distance of his wound. Anyway. Alls well that ends well as they say. Rottie has done a good job of removing the stitches himself, and the wound is now healing up :-) Never a dull moment in our house lol.
Have a blessed and prosperous day. Hugs to all in need. ((((hugs)))) Love you all.

    x
    A work in progress :D
