Hi everyone, lovely day here.
Chalky I've just been reading about the illnesses on your blog and yes, I've got them all. I love your blog.
Hope you feel better today ISOM.
Love to everyone, xxx0 -
Hi all,
Just a quick flyby before DS has to get ready for a birthday party..
Hope we are all well and enjoying the sunshine. I managed to weed a patch of the garden yesterday evening (it was to hot in the afternoon, how mad is that?!?) and now have a blister on the base of the palm of my hand which is so annoying! Anyway, looks better for it, all I need do now is get some seeds/bedding plants to cover the soil.
Anyway, main reason for nipping in (not just for a catchup, though I love reading what everyone's up to) is a bit of a cheeky request or ask. I have decided (in one moment of madness) to make a Jean Greenhowe clown (or something similiar) for a very special little girl - along with a blanket; but the snag is it all needs to be in varying shades of pink and I have no pink at all, whatsoever, in any shape, size or shade in my stash! So, before I go spending pennies I simply don't have, I thought I would ask you lovely people if anyone has a ball or two lurking in their stash somewhere that they wouldn't mind sending across/up/down/over to me?? Any shade, any size, and any ply (DK, chunky, 4 ply, whatever) - doesn't matter in the slightest, anything would be appreciated and used. I really don't like asking, but if I don't ask, then I will never know will I??
Once Project Pink has been completed, I will let you know more details....want to keep it a little "hush hush" as I know her Mum is an MSE-er and may pop onto here for a quick look-see from time to time!
So, if you can help with a little pink wooly donation PM me!
HUGE thanks in advance, I know you won't let me down; and I can bring a smile or two to someone's face!
Lots of love and sunshine dusted huggles,
Dawn xx:hello:0 -

Afternoon everyone :hello:
Just sitting down for 5mins, been really busy getting things ready for the Caravan, we are going down on Tuesday morning until Friday, just to set it all up. We now have a seasonal pitch so van needs levelling and everything needs unpacking inside.
I can't wait to get down there,I just love Devon.
Thank you all for your kind thoughts and wishes for my friends OH:A
They were coming down to Devon with us as their van is on the same site, but he is worried he might miss a cancellation if one comes up.
I have a couple of things to update so will do that next.
We have been having a go in the garden as the weather is so nicenot really done everything that needs doing so will maybe have another hour tomorrow.
Still not finished my ripple blanket but intend to do some more later.
I better go tidy up it looks like a tornado has just blown through here
TTFN may be back later

Hi there, at last I`ve managed to get back.
Thank you all for your good wishes and hugs for our new wee man, although he`s not as wee as we were told.!! The midwife who weighed him soon after he was born said he was xxxx grams, that`s 7lb 6oz (as I told you) but the paperwork DD got when she was discharged last night says 8lb 1 oz so he put on 11oz overnight. Haha.
Well, as you know DD had a midwife appointment on Tuesday and she was `twingeing` all day but she only complained of back pain, no contractions as far as she knew, but as she said, she wouldn`t know what a contraction felt like as she`d never had any before. Logic really.
So she had the back pain regularly all day and by 7.30 was getting sore. Phoned midwife for advice and was told to take a couple of paracetamol and have a warm bath, she was probably in early labour etc.Stuck it out till 11.30 phoned again as she was finding it harder to cope and was advised to go in. Went in at midnight, checked over then asked if she wanted to be `examined` before being sent home again. Uummed and ahhed a bit then decided she wanted to find out what was happening – if anything. Told she was 2-3 cms dilated and to go home and try to rest and relax for a while and given stronger painkillers. Fine. No chance of rest naturally and the tablets didn`t work as she was sick soon after we got back home. Carried on pacing about until she couldn`t stand the pain and phoned again at 5.30am and was told to come back in although she still only had back pains coming every 3 mins and lasting for about a minute. Arrived there at 5.50 and told there wasn`t a bed yet in the unit as there had been quite a few babies that night but by 6.10 she was in a bed with the gas & air on hand. Wasn`t impressed much with that at first and midwife said she could have morphine based jab but that it would take about 15 minutes to work – just gimme was the response. Jab administered then about 10 mins later water breaks (lots of water) and she wants to push. Told she`s not ready – don`t push. Can`t help it want to push – so dr was called in. OK start pushing, DD yelled a bit and was told to stop wasting the effort and push down into her `nether regions` 3 or 4 pushes later out pops his lordship !!! All over in a flash and before the jab had any effect.:)
They had to stay in for 24 hours as they had to make sure he hadn`t any infection from pooing before he was born, mucky pup, but they were discharged last night and got home about 8pm. First night went fine and midwife came in today to see that all was well and will come back on Monday to do the Guthrie test. DD seems to be coping well so hope it continues that way. DS was babysitting this morning– DD had asked if she could leave baby downstairs with me and go back to bed for a wee while but I discovered I needed fresh milk so DS was left in charge of baby and told to wake her if the midwife came while I was away. He`s good with the littlies so had no qualms leaving him for 10 mins and he was in his element. Long may it last.
Will try to post a pic with DD`s help.
Quite tired tonight as not had much sleep the past few nights but hopefully will catch up eventually - do a `Kathy` doze off on the sofa at odd times :rotfl:.
See you soon, hugs to all in need. Haven`t had time to read through but glimpsed that some of you are having tough times, will read through tomorrow to catch up.
