Hi all. I'm not getting much time on here lately due to a) the renovation work and b) my nephew using the computer, so I'm sorry I'm not there with you all!
F1widow - I'm only a little bit stressed, honest! The fact that the worst of the work has now been done is making it easier to bear, plus the clean up after the demolition work in the kitchen was good enough that I've been able to cook properly, and, now that BIL is here, I know that DH will really be able to get on with things. The new sink and sink unit is going in this morning - I can't wait! I'll take a photo now of the current sink and you'll see how desperate I am for the new one! For the first time, I'll even have a cupboard under the sink - what luxury!
Yesterday, we decided to take the day off. DH's other brother and his wife came up on their trike for coffee, then we all went off to our favourite patisserie and sat on the bandstand in the square eating beautiful pizzas and cookies, then we went to the car boot sale (nowhere near as good as in the UK - the rubbish the French try to sell would be turned away by the refuse tips in the UK!), then we went for a walk, came back and snoozed for an hour, had a raclette for dinner which was delicious, then opened the wine and took it easy amongst all the chaos, making plans for today. A great day which has set us all up for the challenges ahead.
I shall take my nephew out this morning - he has some pennies to spend (he's been earning some here, too!) and I need to get a new washing up bowl for my new sink (Pippa - another luxury buy!), and some more milk - I don't think the kettle has had chance to cool down this last few days!
Shaz - my nephew loves Top Gear, too, and we had a blow by blow account of the last episode he watched! His great talent is map-reading and navigation - his memory for that is phenomenal. He's also been giving me tips on speaking French! I went through the French alphabet with him yesterday and he said 'it's right, but try not to say it with an English accent!' His accent is so very French - I keep making him read the cereal packets because I love hearing him!
The work starts on widening and resurfacing the track in our hamlet today so things are happening inside the house and out! It will all be quite chaotic but everything being done will improve the place, so it's positive stuff, really.
Anyway, ISOM - hope you're feeling better today.
Chalky - hope you're having a rest after all that enterprising work you've been doing!
Jean - enjoy your farming duties!
I hope everyone is getting some good weather - it's been lovely here, so I hope it lasts for a while.
Well, I'm off to put that poor old kettle on again.
By the way - thanks for all your great totals. I'll get the update done asap.
Have a great day, everyone.

Me again - just welcoming SE999 (spookily enough, that was the registration number of an ancient Saab car we used to have many years ago. I remember it well because we couldn't turn the heating off on a long trip once in the middle of summer!) I hope you enjoy it here.

morning all - hope that you are all well. i am at home today with my hubby (again!) who has hurt his back - he has had ongoing problems with it for years, but it is back with fury this weekend. his osteopath cant see him till tomorrow!
haven't done much crochet as i have been too busy playing nurse.
oh well, i am feeling sorry for myself, so i think i will go and have a little "internet word" with my friends at kemps and see if they have anything to cheer me up.
i suppose i should do some french homework first and then kemps will be a legitimate treat - mmmmm.
see you later ladies, be good and have a lovely day.
by the way, isom, when you get your book, will you let me know what it is like, i want to order that one and the one called 200 stitches. i think those will be my crochet orders for this year.
right, i must do some homework now!!!

Morning all,
Lovely and sunny here again today.:j
Kathy your nephew sounds adorable and so like ds1, he comes up to me and says ' i love you mummy' and gives me a huge squeeze. I get a lump in my throat every time. He'll be 8 in july and all we had for a year was the ins and outs of ben 10 ( cartoon of a boy who turns into several aliens). He loves routine too he was upset this morning as its back to school today so we had a few tears. Ds2 has classic autism so he's more withdrawn and we have to work at getting anything out of him, he's obsessed with dinosaurs and knows the names of all of them, still he's only 6 and we've come a long way from him just grunting at us.:rotfl:
Chalky glad the sale went well.:T
PTB will have a looksy for you.:)
Shaz Happy birthday for your sons, hope you all have a great day:j
Isom I read your post all wrong and thought you said you'd ordered 200 books:rotfl::rotfl:silly me...:o

Shaz, I love Bridlington, so much to see and do there, glad you had a lovely day. Hope your ds has a great birthday today.
Kathy, so busy for you there at the moment, but what luxury, under sink cupboard AND a new washing up bowl! It sounds like you may need a new kettle too by the time it’s all finished.
Dpixie, hope your OH’s back gets sorted tomorrow.
PTB, I’ll sort something out for you too, have pm’d you.
Blackcrow, any news on the new project?
Lovely and sunny here today, so a bit more in the garden for me I think and then do a couple of chalky squares later.
Hope you all have a nice quiet day, gentle hugs to those feeling poorly or fed up
Love to everyone

morning all, just having five mins peace, been playing kids new ps2 games with them all morning. could do with a bigger house to keep all their stuff in lol, my own fault really for buying them so much, but it was worth it, for the look on their faces. daniel was especially impressed, as the teddy i made him had a letter D on its jumper, and i've never followed a chart before. joshua's bear, had man utd strip on, which is his fav team.
kathy, a new sink, and a new bowl, you are so spoilt lol :rotfl:
onlygirl, hope ds gets back into his routine soom. my two are same, takes them a while to get settled in, then when its the next hols, they miss school and take a few days to adjust to been at home again
dpixie, hope your oh back gets better soon, havent looked at kemps for a few weeks, but now you mention it, i may have a look
hugs all
