Hi all,
Welcome to the world Jayden James! a pleasure to see you arrive :-)
Going back briefly to the conversation i missed while i was away, i tend to lurk and catch up if i have anything to say at weekends as i work full time and have a 9 yr old son and 6 cats who keep me too busy during the week to do anything much else! I adore catching up on everyone's posts at weekends and especially love looking at pictures of the things other people have made, i find it very inspirational - definatly not "showing off"! I do crochet/ crafty stuff to relax because i enjoy it so much - sometimes life-stuff gets in the way and i can't get as much done as i would like (and find myself daydreaming at work about current and future projects) but charity stuff gets done alongside things for family/ friends, on an as and when basis!
And just to give you all a bit of a tease... i was a very naughty girl and bought a pattern (paid too much i know but i just HAD to have it) on ebay a few months ago that i want to share with you all but i was feel a wee bit possesive and wanted to try it out first (and have made quite a few changes here and there as i went along) so having got the main structure done i just have to finish the external decorations this weekend (fingers crossed as it is World Superbikes AND first MotoGP race of the year to watch all day tomorrow + money is sadly "too tight to mention" this month as my dad is very poorly and went down to see him and mum last weekend which cost £100 in petrol, and definately have no petrol for a motorbike jolly, sigh... but worth it!) and then i will take a photo as soon as i can find my son's digital camera and show you the finished object for feedback as to whether you would like a copy of the pattern or not.
Oh yes, also we went for a family day out into London last Saturday and mum and i had a lovely "bonding" time (and chill out for mum from worry) visiting the V & A museum (the boys did the Imperial war museum + horrible histories world war 1 exhibition) where we spent 2 hours wandering around their new special quilt exhibition (totally staggering, took LOADS of sketches and notes and have inspiration in bucket loads! highlights for me were a 19c ship of prisoners to australia quilt, a modern prisoners quilt made by men, a japanese prisoner of war quilt made by girls and a modern quilt called "Liberty Jack" which symbolises diversity and community in modern britain using liberty fabrics and the image of the union jack flag repeated) then we had a lovely lunch in the restaurant there and wandered round the fashion materials gallery before dad rang to say he was too tired and could we meet up and go home.
oops, didnt mean to jabber on too long, cats are causing a riot outside as they want saturday brunch so must toddle off...
hugs to one and all,

Today is pottering (again..Im getting it down well) and finding out how to read music. Under the slightly bonkers category I got myself a violin yesterday from ebay for a ridicuous price and my next "project"...thankfully I know people who can assist in teaching and a friend wants to learn too so we'll share! Washing finished so must sort that. Hugs all!

Anyone seen pfungi of late? Havent seen her and wondered if anyone has heard from her?Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
Hi everyone. I'm the only one up at the moment so enjoying some real peace and quiet, along with a few cuppas!
ISOM - I've wondered about Prfungi - I know she does the Loving Hands daily quiz, because we can see her name on there most days. I just hope nothing here has upset her. I'd be mortified and so sad if that's the case. Pam - we would LOVE to hear from you.
Only Girl - my nephew is exactly the same, so it's head-spinning stuff, but he's is so friendly and affectionate, and really grateful for anything you do for him. He just comes up to me every so often, and says 'Oh, Aunty Kathy!' and gives me a great big hugs. He's only 11 but already taller than me! He's been living in France for three years now and is fluent in French - he's tall, dark and skinny, and is even looking French now! He loves routine, though, and wants to plan every minute of the day, so his Dad has to gently remind him that not every single second has to be mapped out! We're taking them both out for lunch then on to a 'vide grenier' (a sort of car boot sale), later as a break from all the work going on round here.
It's madness here at the moment but, with BIL's help, I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel! I'll try and take some photos later to post on my blog.
Chalky - well done on such a great result. You have worked SO hard on your stall; I'm so pleased it went so well.
Blackcrow - hope your Dad is better soon.
Hope Jayden is settling in well, Elaine!
(((Hugs))) to all those who are feeling unwell or down.
Hope everyone had a great Sunday.
