  • Happy Thursday!
Can't quite believe that we have had a whole week of the Easter school holidays already, and I've only just got a moment (well, half a day!) to myself so I am catching up with things.

Hope everyone had an enjoyable Easter full of whatever you needed it to be. We are awash with eggs as of course everytime DS got one from one of his schoolfriends, they bought DD one too....at last count which I remember was yesterday afternoon, they still had 17 to munch through! They are being very good at sharing them though, eating half each and splitting the "fillings" between them (unless they're Smarties, and DD just spits them out as she hasn't mastered the art of crunching the shell bit yet!)

Also, a very big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Jayden James - hope you are now home safe and well and letting Mummy and Grandma and everyone else who loves you oodles get some sleep! Honestly, it only seems like yesterday we found out you were on your way!

Big hellos to everyone else - brain like fudge at the moment.

    So - here...
DS's girlfriend loved flora the bunny - so much so she's apparently taking it to bed with her every night. I ddn't want to part with bunny, but as she is now loved so much, I think we did the right thing!

Am busy making an upside down Cinderella doll at the minute - just have the faces to embroider on, sew on patched Cinders arms and her hair and then we are done. Would anyone like a picture when I get it all finished? Seem to be into the toys at the moment, but all will be for a good cause or another (more than likely a school fair, a Scout fair or someone else)

Am trying to make my way through my stash, so there will be little things coming when I reach the baby wool. Jacqui - the baby hats: I sometimes just cast on a random number of sts (say 80) and then K1 p1 for a while until I get a bit of a tube, a few rows of knitting/purling 2sts together to get some shaping, and voila - one baby hat which varies in size according to numbers of sts, tension and size of needles used!! Simples!

have also just fond out that I have been appointed as a parent governor at DS's school (they sent the letters out just before the Easter break) and I must have been the only one crackers enough to put myself frward. Should be rewarding though, and I will try to make a difference and put parent's voices forward where I can. Does that make sense?

Easter treat for me was seeing the magnificent Bad Company at Manchester MEN Arena on Good Friday - absolutely amazing, and astounding voice of Paul Rodgers simply gave me goosebumps....the audience singing Shooting Star acoustically and all in unison was breathtaking and very moving......Dh came with me, as did my Dad (as it's all his fault I love Bad Co music....he brought me up with it way back in the 70s). That said, I was one of the youngest there, whcih goes to show they were at there biggest in the 70s!!

New edition of Let's Knit has literally just been popped through the letterbox, so another cuppa and off into the sunshine to have anosey.

    have lovely sunny days everyone,

Take care and big hugs to everyone (they're extra special dusted with sunshine ones today) and best of all, are never-ending and free!!

    Dawn xx

Kathy, thanks for the address, I’m hoping to post a few next week.
Pippa and Shaz, hope you feel better soon.
Onlygirl, nice to see you back, glad you’re feeling better.
Psso, what wonderful news! A huge welcome to Jayden James and hugs to you all.
Chalky, I love your sunshiny blanket, but the puppy just sets it off!

Reading all the posts that isom started about knitting and posting has brought a tear to my eye. This is THE most friendly thread on the internet. I can only agree with everyone, that we are virtual friends not just knitters. I am limited in my knitting due to arthritis, but I do what I can and I know it is appreciated by someone somewhere. Chalky and Kathy can put it into words better, but I thank my lucky stars to have found all you lovely people to ‘talk’ and listen to.

Love and big (((hugs))) to everyone
