Good morning to everyone, whether they are bonkers, assisting in the maternity aisle at Asda, or in any other situation.

Firstly, Elaine - as you can see, we are all agog with excitement!

Pam - hope you are OK? We really miss you on here.

Well, we didn't sit down until gone 9pm last night by the time we had had dinner, cleared up and so on, so just a tiny bit more done to a pair of crochet hi-top boots for Summer (part of a World Cup set I'm making for her), but I'm going to treat myself to an afternoon crocheting to get them done. It's one of those patterns that you have to read and read again to understand.

I've been reliably informed that the new beam in the attic, which has now been bricked into place, needs to 'set, so there's not much the workers can do up there today so they are making a start on the kitchen, taking out a ceiling and knocking down a wall into the room where I am sat right now, so I am being shunted into another part of the house - don't know where yet but, as long as my desk and computer are set up to be still handy for the kettle, I don't mind! This is the bit I've been dreading but I know it has to happen so I shall try and keep my cool. I've been taking photos like mad, so will post some more on my blog later - I think I ought to recharge the batteries because I can see that there will be lots more photos to be taken!

The local commune workers have cleared up the trees on our land that had to be felled ready for the track-widening and resurfacing that starts on Monday - it's all go here, inside and out; all I can do is look forward to when it's all finished, I suppose, and not get too stressed out!

We had the news we'd been dreading from our friends last night that their lovely dog had passed away. It has all been so sudden because she seemed fine when we saw her in February, so we can only imagine how they are feeling. I know we all have to face the fact that pets have shorter lives than us people, but the relationships that can be formed between pet and owner are very strong. This lovely dog was almost human - very friendly, loveable, super-intelligent, and one of those pets that you instantly fall in love with; she was a huge and important part of their lives, having been with them through some really tough times, and it just won't be the same without her.

Well, I need another cuppa before I have my shower. Will catch up with you all later.

So sorry to hear about your friends dog Kathy, Collie's are wonderful and as you say, almost human.
The ceiling has been threatening you for a while, so it's probably best to just get it over with, you'll feel so much better when it's done, I'm really trying not to say hanging over your head.
Good luck with it, lots of love. xxx

Thanks, Kinsey. They are upstairs right now deciding whether they can get on with the work up there, or start moving me out down here! You're right, it has been threatening for months now and I can no longer stall the event, so I shall just have to grit my teeth and bear it!

Morning lovlies...so sad to hear re the hound miol...I always feel a bit sad for people who dont love animals but when you love them so much its incredibly sad...Hope the building work goes ok...my advice would be to find a comfy nook with your hook and stay out the way!! I'm having a quiet day today so will get some of Fergs blanket done! Had an awful nights sleep last night - just couldnt get off and when I did had a horrible nightmare! yuck!

Hi everyone, and thanks for your kind words about our friends' lovely dog.

I've just done the update which you can find by clicking into my name at the left-hand side of this post, then clicking on my homepage.

Well, the verdict on the work on the house is that they can carry on upstairs for the morning and I may be moved into another room this afternoon. I don't know what state the kitchen will be in by dinner time so we may have to eat out tonight (not that I mind that!) I shall still try and get some crochet done this afternoon, and I shall also have to dismantle my computer and put it up in its new home.

Anyway, I'd better go and make them a drink!

:hello: Hello to all my nuttyknitty Aunties, I`m here at last.
I was born at 7am today and I weigh 7lb 6oz and my Mummy is calling me Jayden James. We have to stay in hospital till tomorrow as I was a naughty boy and did a poo before I was born, so they have to make sure I don`t have an infection.
Grandma is cream crackered so she`ll be back with more news later.

Hi there Jayden James, and welcome to the world! We've all been waiting for you but no-one has waited harder than your Grandma! You are a lovely bonny-baby weight and arrived conveniently before the rush hour - I think you will lead a charmed life! I hope your Mummy is feeling well - I bet she's all emotional and excited, isn't she? Give your cream-crackered-but-lovely Grandma a big (((hug))) from me and and I hope she gives you an even bigger one! I look forward to hearing all about you as soon as Grandma has recovered!

    love from Aunty KathyXX
