Good morning everyone. As you can see, I'm up early this morning. DH has to be up and off early because he is working today, doing some guttering for someone. They've been putting the job off because of the weather - it's either been blowing a gale, pouring with rain, or below freezing over the last month, but the weather is so good this week that they've booked him in for today and tomorrow. Great for me because I get a break from all the dust-making that goes on here! We had a really good clean up yesterday morning, before our guests arrived, so the place feels lovely - all clean and organised, so I shall be busy with chores this morning and taking it easy with my crochet this afternoon!

Our lunch went well yesterday and we had a lovely afternoon with our friends. It did us both good not to be doing any renovating - just chillin' out in the conservatory.

Chalky - fingers crossed for the pups. I do hope they find a loving home.

Salome - glad Rottie is well.

Seakay - (((hugs))) to you in your sad situation. Good luck with the glasses - they should help straightaway so, if you're not happy with them, go back and get them changed.

Sparrer - that Racy Lady sounds a nightmare, doesn't it? It's so annoying when you try and work with yarn that's difficult to use.

Purple Teddy Bear - it's good to hear from you. I love Flora the bunny! Hope DD is better soon.

Well, I've nearly finished crocheting my third bunny - I shall do a Chalky and sew them all up one after the other. I'm only managing to get time in the evenings to do the woolly stuff so they're taking a longer time to do than I expected. I need to get them in the post at the end of next week so they reach the grandchildren in time for Easter.

Anyway, I'm off for another cuppa so I will catch up with you all later.

    Hello all :)

Can't believe how long since I caught up with the posts - It's taken me ages just to skim them.

Glad to hear the little doggies at least have a future, and lets hope they find good homes. I wish I could get my hands on their former owners

Sorry some of you are having hard times with kids/men and hope things improve soon.

Been a bad time what with mother's day, and mam would have been 91 tomorrow.

Had to rush 2 year old great-nephew Alfie to hospital last night. He fell off his chair whilst having dinner and has broken his elbow in 2 places  Poor little mite :( He's still seeing dentist after the last fall, but he just won't stay still for a second.... feel like wrapping him up in cotton wool. 4 year old brother Zaki was very loving and concerned for him, but was quite philosophical when he said to me quite seriously "At least it wasn't his neck" :rotfl:.

So after getting up to take their mum to work at 6 AM, and running around all day, I finally dropped Zaki to my sister to stay the night and came home to have dinner. Had just put a corned beef hash in the oven when said sister rang in a panic. She had seen a young girl collapse in the path just outside her house and rushed out to help. The poor girl (about late teens) had had a row with her father and he threw her out of the house, but not before smashing her cell phone and her asthma inhaler. She had headed for her Gran's house and gotten 2 miles before nearly passing out. Luckily sister Edith has inhalers and gave her one to use. The girl has learning difficulties too, so what sort of father could do that to her? Anyway, out came my dinner and off I went to drop her off to her Gran. Finally sat to dinner at 9 PM, but then just couldn't face it. And of course had no sleep with worrying about Alfie.

So, just a natural continuance of 2010 for the Wilson household :(

Not done any knitting at all for the last couple of weeks, but hopefully will pick up the needles again soon.

    Take care everyone.

Wow, Lorna - what a post. I really hope that life settles down for you. Mother's Day was so hard for you; your first one without your dear mother. Hope your great-nephew can keep himself out of trouble for a while. Zaki's comment was amazing for one so young! That poor girl - as you say, how can a father treat a vulnerable child - his own! - like that? Thank heavens that Edith was on hand to help her - one can only wonder what could have happened to her, not just because she didn't have her inhaler, but also because she could have fallen into the wrong hands. That father wants prosecuting because he put his daughter in danger. Let's hope she can stay with her Gran.

Well, the sun is beaming and we've been promised a warm day. I have had to hunt around for washing to make up a load - don't want to waste such a good drying day! DH has left for work so I have a few chores to do, some online work and then I hope to devote a few hours to my crochet with my feet up. I could get used to this!

    Have a great day, everyone.

    morning all.

lorna - i cannot believe what a rubbish few days you have had. it sounds like something out of a really sad story, however, i suppose that they base those on real life, dont they?

i do hope that things pick up for you, we are thinking of you and sending out loads of positive thoughts to you.

Kathy, glad to hear that there is some good weather to be had in france, i was beginning to think that when we go there in a couple of weeks time it was going to be freezing again. (i am ever so grateful that our elderly neighbour goes into our house on the morning of our arrival and put the heating on in the sitting room and our bedroom - at least that way its not too cold!)

Have a wonderful day all, i believe that the sun is going to shine and the temperature is going to be quite high - what a treat!

DPixie - we've had a long winter here, which I've been assured is unusual. We've had minus 13 some nights, and minus 6 during the day. TBH, it came as a real shock to my system! I've never worn so many layers of clothes! We still wake up to frost but, within a couple of hours, the temperature really climbs - today is gorgeous, more like the weather we should all be getting! Mind you, I don't trust it, and it's a good idea for your neighbour to turn the heating on before you go back!

morning all, dawn hope your ds is feeling better today
lc wilson, what a sad story about the father throwing out his vulnerable daughter, he needs prosecuting for treating his child like that.
poor alfie, he's a very accident prone little boy by the sounds of it, my two sons were the same at that age, never still.
seakay, if the glasses dont seem right after a week, and your still getting headaches, please go bak to the opticians. sometimes its just something as simple as repositioning the lenses in the frame to adjust the focus. i've worn glasses since the age of 2, and sometimes new glasses do take a bit of adjusting to, but if they not right they will sort them for you
knitting day for me, not charity stuff but socks for both my sons massive feet
    hugs all

    Hi

Rottie has to have a check up this morning. Should be fun ?????!!!!! lol.
Lorna. Thoughts and prayers with you that your life will calm down a little to give you some breathing space ((((hugs)))) and Seakay, that you will find yourself able to move on I felt for you so much when I read your post. Bless you. ((((hugs))))
No knitting or crochet done yesterday.
Went to a candle party last night. They weren't cheap !!!! Got a set of four tea lights for my daughter. Cheapest thing on offer. I had to sit by the door due to the candle scent sending my nose off on a sneezing fit. (can't walk through the washing powder aisle in supermarkets without sneezing lol) Thankfully my nose behaved itself, even though the house was perfumed to the hilt. When I got home though, the back of my throat felt strange, and I could almost "taste" the scent of the candles. My head felt weird as well. Probably got high on the perfume lol !!!!! (my lot would say my head is always weird so what's new lol)
Have a blessed and prosperous day. Hugs to all in need ((((hugs)))) Love you all.
