In a world that has decided that it's going to lose its mind, be more kind my friend, try to Be More Kind0 -
Back in rural land looking after my sister's cats and cottage after a manic weekend at home - picked up reading glasses (my first pair) which I'm not at all sure about yet - they magnify up to 18" and then make everything more blurry! Will persevere for a month and if still getting headaches will go back to the optician.
Had crown fitted at the dentist - one more check up to go next month.
Had day out with husband - not doing as well at moving on as you Shazrobo, possibly because his leaving me was a huge shock and not something that I wanted or had any say in. Feel very sad that we have been married for over 20 years ands now I can't tell him that I'm spending time away from home because i don't trust the woman he went off with not to take advantage of the house being empty. Even sadder that it is so easy to keep the knowledge from him because he is so uninterested in my life that he will not notice.
Anyway, on a positive note, just off to sit with my cat (who is having to live in the spare room for the duration) and do some more balaclava.
Hope that the weather continues fine - love being able to get washing dry outside - and that your pond is bedding in well at your allotment ISOM.
MAYTAURUS - been reading through the ME links that you posted - very interesting and encouraging that at least some eminent scientists and Drs are trying to direct research in a positive way.0 -

SHAZROBO - has the quack said what the lump is? I would have thought two lots of antibiotics would have cleared it up. So glad you had a great time at the seaside with the boys - any rock there? Oh sorry I forgot you don't like it. I shall stop at Blackpool on my way to Scotland and buy a shed load.
DPIXIE - sound like my kind of fun laughing at the antics of folk in boats bashing into each other. Not sure you will need the canal + for the football tho' - the French stations will be showing it non stop I should imagine, if not it will be le Tour (big yawn from me - but DH loves it).
CHALKY - good result for the dogs - I am sure they will be very happy in Holland too.The Hooligan Wooligan – age 9¾

Hi all - our visitors stayed for most of the afternoon so I've been MIA.
DPixie - I don't use Canal+; is that for the TV? We use our old Sky box for our little portable in the kitchen, and bought a FreeSat box (when we were in the UK - £48 in Tesco) for our main TV. We just watch the main free UK channels on both. Our phone is France Telecom (sorry, but an ongoing nightmare to deal with!), and Orange for the internet. The Orange helpline has improved enormously since the trouble we had getting connected when we first moved here. Also, have you sorted out your Carte Vitale yet? I only ask because CPAM who issue them took nine months to sort ours out so I recommend starting the saga asap! I will say, though, that Jean (Roamin in the Gloamin) is the expert on all things French and has saved my sanity on more than one occasion. I look upon her as my own personal Anglo Info (but you can share her!).
Jean - your cake is fantastic and well worth all that effort and frustration. Well done!
Well, dinner is on then I intend to settle down with my crochet for the evening.
Hope everyone has had a great day - we have had 16 degrees today and it's been really summery - I hope you've all had great weather, too.

mioliere and maytaurus , re my post 3703 - this yarn (Racy Lady) is a nightmare to knit with, I've started three times now  and am having great difficulty keeping the loose ends out of the way of the stitches . I've decided it was a bit ambitious for a very rusty returner so the scarf will now be a simple double knit until I have the patience to try the RL yarn a fourth time
. Will let you know how it goes - never give up!

Evening all,
Just a quick flyby so a quick HELLO to everyone, and big huggles all round.
Have been coping with DS and ikky tummy today, poor mite doesn't know what's hit her, but she's fast asleep now, so catching up with myself and all the things i haven't done whilst I get a chance. Washing machine is on it's third load of my clothes she's been sick down, along with sofa throws, cushion covers, duvets and the like! Ho hum, these things happen and fingers crossed it's just a 24 hour thing.
Thought I would pop up some piccies of Easter Bunny (Flora) I have made for DS's girlfriend (ripe old age of 5!!) - I think she's a wee bit cute! Eek - won't work......
Off to see how I add photos!!
Dawn xx:hello:0
