Mrs Twins here,
Thank you so much for the beautiful squares received today, which will be going towards the 'Sunshine International Blankets of Love' in Memory of my Grandmother.
I'm trying to get hold of your personal email address. Could you reply to me please? or does anyone else know the address?
Thank you.0 -
Mrs Twins--- Its lovely to see you here. I cant help, but I bet Kathy or someone will be along in a minute with information for you . Glad the squares are all
piling in but you will be busy sewing upTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
ISOM - fantastic quilt! Your mother will be thrilled. Is the Monmouth shop in a pedestrian-only street leading to the church? If so it's where I got lovely ribbon for wrapping presents a few years ago. Really good shop, packed to the rafters and nice assistants.
MOLIERE- thank goodness you got your money back!
ROAMIN- oh the good old days when there was room to move in a supermarket because all the mothers left their prams and babies outside! You'd probably get arrested for neglect if you tried it now!
Been practicing some simple crochet that ISOM showed me, 'stitching' together some squares that are too small for Chalky. Sure I'll find a use for them at some point but at the moment they are very useful for learning a new skill!0 -
Seakay-- I am sure they are lovely and I am glad you are getting to love crochet!Try and do a good deed every day.0

thanks re quilt...got the fabric for the next one (mine and it will fit!!) today! Rather alot for sommat that is meant to be "scrappy" but love the cols/fabrics! Have also designed the quilt as couldt find a pattern I liked!
Seakay dont forgt there are lots of squares here for cat blankets if you want more practice lol! Yes the shop is called cotten angel and is on that street but moved further down the same road a couple of years ago! Despite the fact that there is a shop closer I like the people in this one as very helpful so despite further travel tend to go there when I can.
Anyway, nothing done last could days so off to find hook and continue babette!
May still thinking of you...huge hugs.Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -

Yes I'm really enjoying myself thank you. It seems to be a success. First time on here I'm not sure what I'm doing to be honest with you.0 -

Forgot to say earlier Isoke cat had to stay in another night (dread the bill) as still got ikky tum but stopped being sick...lodger and went to visit on way back and had a cwtch and she is much brighter than yesterday, apprently demanding attention and should be home tomorrow! Off to bed I go as got to take friend to a meeting first thing (well 10am but in current lifestyle the crack of dawn lol!!)..Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! all so much for your caring thoughts & hugs,
It really does make a difference to know you peeps are sending out caring vibes.
Well, all the family & other peeps who’ve known Cosmo for a long time, said our proper goodbyes on Monday night.
I stayed with him & when we came back from the vet we buried him in the garden with his sister, so they are now re-united in doggie heaven
The other 2 dogs are also missing him, they looked at us very strangely when we left the house with him and came back without him and spent some time wondering around going to their baskets etc as though they were looking for him
They’ve had extra cuddles and it helps to have them, as I think it’s really horrible if you only have one dog and have to come home to an empty house with all the doggie paraphernalia and no doggie, so I’m very lucky to have them
In Search Of Me
I hope you & Isoke are both feeling a lot better now
Your quilt is lovely, how long did it take for you to make it though?

If you get a crochet lite, let us know what you think about it
Glad you got the cash machine problem sorted and I hope the weather improves for you!

I can see all your joint knitting projects with your daughter turning into a contest of speed & perfection lol
The little hoodies are lovely! :T

Hi everyone and a huge warm welcome to Mrs Twins - how lovely to see you on here. I do hope you stay with us - if you need any help with navigating the forum, please feel free to ask. We are ALL very helpful. This is such a friendly thread, I, for one, would be lost without it! You are in good company with Chalky who sews all our 8" squares together!
Maytaurus - it must have been a very sad day for you but you did the right thing for poor little Cosmo, and he obviously had a lovely life with you. I love the cardie with the collar - but I still have so many other things I want to make for Summer; you are too good at finding patterns! I welcome the NICE guidelines and will send the link to my sister.
ISOM - hope Isoke continues to improve. Your quilt is lovely, by the way. As someone who really does not like sewing that much, I really admire all that work!
Thank you all for allowing me to offload about the ATM problem - I was more worried about it than I thought I was, IYKWIM, because I was expecting to have a fight on my hands getting the money back. I would have been a bit miffed if it had been just a tenner, but €280 would have been too hard to bear!
I always grumble about how expensive many things are here now (apart from utilities and rates which are really cheap), but I have to say that I was delighted when I picked my full-length coat up from the cleaners. They've made it look like new and it only cost €6.45 - it's always cost around £12 back home. Mind you, DH still goes white when he looks at the price of paint here - around €60 for a tin that would costs about £15 in the UK. Luckily, we bought loads with us when we moved over, and a few more tins on our last visit. The quality is so much better than the French variety, too.
Another square finished last night. I must count them up again and amend my sig. When I've reached twenty, I will have a marathon end-sewing in and blocking session! I'm really enjoying doing them, though, and my scraps of wool are disappearing fast.
Well, DH is working today and tomorrow - as long as the weather is not too bad. He has a guttering job to do so I should get a break from labouring for him, and it gives me a chance to take some photos without the tools all over the place!
F1Widow, Elaine and Pam, I do hope you are all OK.
And DPixie - we miss you. Hope things are going well for you.
Will catch up with you all later. Off for a shower now, followed by another cuppa!
