quilt piccies here..sorry phone went!! Thanks for all thoughts today - much appreciated. Suspect there is a long, hard road ahead but also have faith so know that there is a plan amongst the current chaos; plus I continue to feel utterly overwhelmed by love, support and friendship. Lovely lodger had cooked me lovely supper and tomorow we plan to go for a wee jolly!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
May:
So sorry to hear about your little dog. I never had the guts to take my first dog (Glenny) and got my brother to do it for me. It's something I've regretted to this day. Was braver with my second dog (Jess) and so glad I was. She went so peacefully and it was over in seconds. In a strange way it was a comfort to be there.
Please give your other little dog a special hug from me because she will be missing her friend so much too.
Take care.

Hi everyone. It's quiet on here this morning; I hope everyone is well.
Maytaurus - I've been thinking about you and sending (((hugs))).
Well, I've just posted this week's update on my blog, which you can find by clicking into my name at the left-hand side of this post, then clicking on my homepage.
Thank you all for your great totals- we seem to go from strength to strength and it's all down to generous you all are with your time and materials. You are all stars!
I'm still doing squares and using up all my odd scraps of wool; it's just finding the time that's difficult.
ATM update: We've had a phone call from La Poste to say we can go and collect the missing €280 this afternoon, apparently. Will not consider the matter solved, though, until the money is back where it should be!
Well, I have some work to do so I'd better go and get that done.
Hope you all have a good day.

MIOLIERE - hope the post off ice came up with the dosh!
I am cutting out this afternoon, stuff for the Algerian Action, can't sew at present as DH has just started a minor building project .....for ME...a proper work room, so fingers crossed he cracks on with it and gets it all finished within a week - well if the rain stops long enough for him to get back from the shops with plasterboard!
It has been pouring down in buckets since yesterday and no sign of any let up, blowing a hooligan too, still mustn't grumble eh! Back after a cuppa me thinks to catch up with the forum.

Hi everyone.
Jean, we've had pouring rain and howling gales here, too. The geometre came out to measure our little road for surfacing; the Mairie came, too, along with four other men who didn't seem to be doing any work, just loitering around smoking, and we had to be out there with them! I suppose that's the French way of things. We asked the Mairie when the surfacing work would be carried out and he said 'when the sun shines'! The best thing of all is that we need to move our water meter and the pipe closer to the house and, when we mentioned that to the Mairie because it is in the bit of road that they will be doing, he said that he would get it done for us. So that's one problem solved, we hope.
Success with the ATM problem at last! We had to take our passports down to the main La Poste where they filled in a book, stamped four copies of the form and gave us one copy (as Jean will testify, the French just love their paperwork and everything has several copies and lots of signiatures). The form came from a book specially for the purpose, which goes to show how often it must happen here! Anyway, they had the ATM till roll which showed the mistake luckily, and they handed the €280 back to us. It's been giving me a headache over the last few days because I was wondering how I was going to fight the battle if they didn't believe us!
Maytaurus - I hope you are OK? Don't forget, we're here for you.
Well, I'd better go and check the chicken casserole that's in the oven, smelling delicious.

Afternoon all. May am thinking of you. F1 havent seen you for a while either or psso so hugs coming your way...
Just ad a lovely day out with lodger. I wanted to get the fabric for the next quilt so we went to Monmouth to a lovely crafty shop that sells wool, fabric and nic naks and after much ummin and ahhing got the fabric for the top of my quilt. I'll do it in bits cos it aint cheap but am very pleased to have a project that will, hopefuly, keep me sane. Just that and the babette with sqaures to crochet so that will keep me out of mischief. Popped in to see Isoke on the way home. Shes feeling and looking much better but needs to stay one more night as still got ikky tmmy, although stopped being sick. Apparently shes been very vocal and demanding attention so obviously feeling much better! Apparently she had a strop and trashed her cage at some point but they'd put it back togeather by the time I got there!
Great news re the money miol...what a faff though!
Am off for a snooze as stil feeling fluey and well, I can, so will!!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -

Hello to one and all

Roamin -- How lovely to have a dedicated space -- No stoppinhg you now . Smoke will be coming out of your machine!! Lucky charities
We had a lovely lunch today with friends but I think I am definitely LOSING it as I left 1 complete dish in the fridge!!!!
Following on from forgotten babies - My Mum left my brother outside Woolworths in the pram. She was so cross with my oldest brother that she was marching him home to give him "what for" when he peeped up about his baby brother and she ran all the way back and forgot about bad behaviour. Baby of course was still safe and asleep in his pram!
I fed DD1 in the middle of the night when she was weeks old and when I got up in the morning I couldn't find her anywhere. She wasn't in the cot . Doh was still asleep and DS too little to take her out of the cot which was in our room. So puzzled I started looking for her!!! When I looked under the bed there she was all swaddled in her blanket and fast asleep !!!! I must have been so tired I fed her and then tucked her under the bed !!!! I did have the 2 of them close together but what a mother !!
Relaxing now but will be apuppyong later!!

I left a month old DS in the pram outside the supermarket - walked home lugging all the shopping, while I was stuffing the goods into the cupboards I was convinced I had "missed something off the list", wasn't until my ancient neighbour arrived to pick up her groceries and asked where the baby was............boy did I feel daft but I did run all the way back to get him, sound asleep with not a care in the world, me practicing for my first heart attack with worry. I obviously had that 'had a baby brain' in at the time and I am not too sure I ever got rid of it!The Hooligan Wooligan – age 9¾
