Good morning all. I lost my connection last night (we had torrential rain so I don't know if that had anything to do with it?). In the end I turned the PC off and just had to survive the evening without it!

Maytaurus - I'm so sorry to hear about Cosmo, poor little thing. It's great that the 'lost' dog has been reunited with his family, though; I expect you will be feeling a mixture of sad and happy today. Don't forget we are all here for you. It's a sad day when you have to lose a much-loved pet.

Thanks for the link to the crochet lites. I might just have to treat myself to at least one.

Salome - both little jackets are gorgeous. Well done to both of you.

I hope Pippa got off to a good start this morning.

ISOM - prayers for you for today.

Well, I will be doing the update today. It should have been done yesterday but the time ran out on me yet again. I finished a square last night and started another one, while we were watching a horrid film (The Bone Collector). I only watched it because I like Denzil Washington but I spent half the film hiding behind my crochet!

This afternoon we are going back to try and sort out our ATM problem so wish us luck - I really don't want to lose €280!

Well, the kettle needs to go back on so I'm off for a cuppa.

Just a special post to send my love to you May --- Having our dog put to sleep,to rest, was one of the hardest things we have ever had to do . He had been so special to the family for 16 years. I am so sorry you have such a sad time. I hope your other lovely doggies give you extra love.

    ISOM amd PTB
    -- lots of gentle thoughts

Off gardening so will pop back later
Kathy -- Hope the golden brick is OK
Try and do a good deed every day.
  • Morning all...May lots of prayers coming your way. Thought of you this morning when I took Isoke to the vet. Her D&V hasnt improved and she was feeling v sorry for herself and lethargic so decided to err on the side of caution and take her in...he was happy to send her home with me but I said I would prefer she went on a drip etc as Macey my other lovely tabby died because I didnt realise she wasnt eating and her kidneys packed up...thankfully I didnt have to explain as he cared for Macey too!! So puss is with "uncle D" probably objecting to being rehydrated!!
    Anyway May biggest email hugs possible coming your way;
Hope work goes ok today after your return :)
Lol re gardening chalky...its snowing here!!
Have had lots of texts, phone calls emails and cards today so once again feel very loved and cared for and, despite current situation, know that I am very blessed so I may be down but am very much not out, buoyed by much love and support...plus some yummy medication lol! Back later!

  • may my thoughts are with you, what a difficult task you face BUT it must be done and the kindest owners are the ones who dont prolong the suffering and make this decision for their pets best intrest even if it is heartbreaking to them. Sending you a big virtual hug and hoping to find the strength to help you through this difficult time

I just wanted to share the good news that the Jack Russell has-been re-united with his owner who was very relieved that we’d looked after him
I’m so glad I brought him home, I don’t know how they could have been going to leave him in the street ! ...... PEOPLE!

just to lighten the mood a little i'll let you into a secret my mum left my baby brother outside the village shop when i was a teenager, she had been home at least 1/2 hour before she realised. she was too embarrassed to go back so made me go and theyre he was luckily fast asleep outside the shop in his pram
so its not just forgetful dog owners who leave things behind;)
im really glad you managed to get him reunited with his owner it was very kind of you

salome those little hoodies look lovely:T

kathy i hope you get your money back from the ATM

ISOM and PTB sending you kind thoughts and hugs

i finished my blanket last night i had enough rust to put another single edge all the way round and make a tassle for each corner - now according to DS it is lke the magic carpet on Aladdin:rotfl:.

i think ill go back to the rabbit now

    Hi everyone.

May - I hope you are feeling OK?

Mrs Moneypenny - my secret is leaving the baby at home (DS1) and walking an empty pram to the shops! L:uckily, we only lived about five minutes away and DS1 was still fast asleep on his changing mat on the front room floor!

Well, ATM update - we have just spent half an hour in the post office that the machine is attached to, listening to the cashier talking on the phone in rapid French to someone about the problem. It turns out that they have to go through all the print-outs from the machine to look for the error, then they will phone us (apparently) and we will have to go in to the main post office in town to collect the money - two to three days max, he said. So more finger crossing for a few days. I'm just so glad we're not desperate for the money, but that doesn't mean we don't want it back asap!

I was only thinking of F1widow the other day. Jacqui - if you're reading this, I hope you are well and that things are OK with your DS.

Well, time to put the dinner on.

MAYTAURUS: so glad to hear about the rescued dog but very sad about Cosmo. I think that you were very brave to take him to the vet yourself.
Thank you for the links - I've put the ME one on Foggy Friends
ISOM hope it went well today, have been thinking of you, and also hope that Isoke is happy and hydrated again
MOLIERE can't believe that you still don't have the answer about your money! Hopefully soon

I have finished my nephew's scarf, but am putting off the collar of the v-necked jumper I'm doing for Romania (hate picking up loads of stitches!) and starting a balaclava for the seamens' charity (pondered this for a while but can think of no phrasing that does not sound vaguely snigger worthy - or is that just me?
  • evening all,
many thanks for all your kind thoughts and good wishes for today. It took one huge deep breath for me to enter the building, and once I got to my desk I was smothered in hugs which made me feel missed, and then guilty for having time off (how mad is that?).

I have my "return to work" strategy meeting tomorrow afternoon, and I only worked to lunchtime today - I think they're trying to break me in gently and just make sure I don't try to do too much or run before I can walk. So, all in all it went well and I think I was ready to go back if I am honest with myself.

My moonglow jacket now has had all the stitches picked up, and the bands are now completed..along with the buttonholes! ALL I have to do now is sew the sleeves in, fasten all the ends in and find some buttons, then I might stand a chance of wearng it at some point.

snowing here again, but hopefully it won't be too much. can't be doing with having to fight my way through it in the morning.

May - my thoughts and virtual hugs are with you at the moment. I can remember having to take my hamster for his final visit to the vets and that was heartbreaking enough. Am sure Cosmo had a fabulous time with you and will be looking after you in years to come. Take care of you all and take your time in taking care if you know what I mean.

I had so much more to say, but brain is a bit fried so I am off for a warm bath and bed.

Hugs and love to everyone, and extra special hugs for those that want or need them. I find they help!

    Dawn xx
