  • Morning all.
I know I haven't posted for a while, but have been reading and keeping up to date with everything.
Well, we have snow here this morning, it has eased off a little, but its still coming down!!
So glad we did our shoppping and jobs yesterday as really don't feel like going out today. While we were shopping, called in at Aldi, well it would have been rude not to wouldn't it. I managed to rescue a pattern book, 2 packs of the DK (red and cerise) and 2 balls of baby (lemon and mint). I wanted some of the coloured aran really but it had been well picked through and there was very little left. Some nice blanket patterns in the book, which I think I can adapt for prem baby blankets with a bit of thought - thats the plan anyway.
I hope everyone has a good day, if you have snow, stay in and keep warm.
Will post my update separately (don't think that I've been knitting like a demon when you see it, I don't think I've done an update since before christmas, and a few of the items were WIPs that I finished during the last spell of bad weather).

Take care all and kind thoughts and hugs to those who need them.

  • Hi, I rarely post on, and don't even really read, this forum anymore, but I'm having a clearout and thought of this thread.
Having admitted that I'm never going to finish ANY knitting project, I have a load of yarn to get rid of. Obviously, I would MUCH rather give it to a good cause than throw it in the trash!
It's all different colours (some white, red, grey, green, purple, etc) probably just less than a ball's worth of each.
If anyone wants some/all of it, PM me and I'll happily post it to you =)

Some good news from Help for Heroes
‘Help for Heroes are delighted to announce that their fundraising appeal has raised a staggering £40 million in 28 MONTHS to provide direct, practical support for wounded Servicemen and women’

Re ... ‘appt to get scan results and...no explanation! aghhhh!!... Could also be my teeth grindig so am having a mouth guard ... a bit tired and grumpy’
What’s been happening with you ?
Re;’ wish I had your memory!’
You really shouldn’t you sausage ... remember I’ve got M.E. & the memory of a gnat most of the time !
A couple of peeps have said they don’t know how I remember things ...
I did say once before, it’s because I do my posts in Microsoft Word and then paste them onto the thread
It means I don’t get logged out before I’ve finished and I can do a bit at a time and keep going back to it ... but if I repeat myself or don’t make sense anytime just ignore me !

Thank you so much for your message ...
I have posted the elderly squares,

    pict0338.jpg

So hopefully they will be of use
Just wish I could be of more use generally, it’s just sooooo frustrating / upsetting when you’ve always been very active & the 1st port of call for peeps needing a hand & then find yourself working at about 45% on a good day, which you don’t often get anyway .... oh well, that’s my moan for the day
Enjoy your friend's birthday lunch ! :bdaycake:

Any sign of a diagnosis yet ?:smileyhea

Re ‘ Mum is still knitting scarves for some of the ladies where she lives, makes me laugh though she said "I am only doing this for Mary because she's old and can't knit any more" turns out Mary is 81 and Mum is 88’, made me smile Anne, I just wish my Mum could still do her beautiful knitting
Re;’ Aldi ... I wanted the petroly/turquoisey pack that you got but they had run out. We got there at 10am and half of the wool had gone ... ‘
What a shame ... my OH was out today near one of our Aldi stores & I asked him to pop in & looksy if they had some, (we have 3 stores in a 10 mile radius)
& I would have sent it to you ... they had wool but not the one you wanted cry.gif
    He's just got back and
... he brought me another 400g of aran :rotfl:
Just wondering now that my stash is sooooo huge tho, if I'll actually live long enough to use it all  :rotfl:... I hope so ... I also feel a bit pressured now to get it all used

Glad you’re making progress with your naughty puppies !

    Re wool purchase
I already had a huge stash and only went to Aldi thinking of adding a few 100g balls to it, but when I saw how nice it was ... I just couldn’t resist, it will certainly be a while before I need to buy anymore ! :rotfl:

Sorry to hear that you don’t want to do any more knitting
As ISOM said you could give the yarn to the charity shop, or I’m sure Lou could use it at Loving Hands
    http://www.lovinghands.org.uk/donations.htm

    roamin in the gloamin
    I’m sure
the Algerian Action sewing must count, as it’s making for charity is’nt it?... and you’ve made so many!
You had them on the list last year
Hope you’re keeping warm and that the leckys not playing up! X

    psso
Hope the decorating is going well!
    DON’T be overdoing it!
