Hi Mioliere, thanks for that, I tried googling but nothing came up.0

Hi Tracy. I think your abbreviation means "through back of stitch". HTH.0

Hi Tracy -
TBS is definitely through back of stitches (known normally as through back of loop) so you knit into the back of the st rather than the front as normal. Hope this helps!
And here --
have started to clear the loft (you know when you start doing something and really wished you hadn't...) and have found YET MORE WOOL!! I now have a blanket box full, another storage box full and a few packets balanced on top of the storage box until I find somewhere to keep it all. Another blanket box methinks...(although where I would put that I don't know).
Cupboard in bedroom cleared, wardrobes sorted and 15 rubble sacks of rubbish/clothes/shoes all relocated to either the tip, the recycling or charity. Have a full bin bag of books to go to the charity shops later, and still oodles more stuff to sort out.
Littlies are a joy - we went for a long walk on Wednesday afternoon to blow the cobwebs away, and it was a whopping minus 1 outside, but lovely. We saw squirrels, robins, rabbits and fed the ducks too.
Anyway, lunch calling - back laters and love to all,
Dawn xx:hello:0 -
Hi all, hope your day is going well.
Tracy, I would agree with Mioliere that the TBS means 'knit two stitches together through back loops' as the number of stitches you would end up with (25) is right if you did that. I think it is a way of decreasing so that the decreased stitches slope to face each other...if you know what I mean. Have you checked the abbreviations that came with the pattern? Just in case there is some special meaning. I am not an experienced knitter but hope this may help. Kath0 -
Hi Tracy, as Mioiere said, through back of stitches. Usually would say through back of loops, I think. See this link for other explanations you might come across.

Hi all
More later but I just wanted to share some *good* news for a change.
Niece (Sarah) just got a part-time receptionist job at this 5 star hotel in Durham City.
Click on the virtual tour to see the £250 a night rooms

Money will come in really handy for her as OH (Fadi) still works in London and they have 2 lots of bills etc. He manages 2 quite large hotels and couldn't earn the same money up here, so there is a lot of travelling back and forth.
Guess who will be helping grandma look after the 2 little horrors 3 days a week?
Back later.

Wow - what an amazing place!
Don't suppose it translates to staff conditions, but at least she must be dealing with happy customers.
Hope that the baby sitting goes well for you!0 -
Nice to have some good news Lorna, not sure I`d be willing to pay those prices for a room though...........still if I`d won the lottery I might.
Just catching up while having a breather from the decorating. have decided to strip all the walls now, was only going to do the two she wanted new paper on, but the other two would need a couple of coats of white to cover the blue so I`m going to put up lining paper and paint it instead. Better get on with it as the decorating fairies have gone AWOL.

Oh wee Summer looks a right cutie pie, hope you got a ton of cuddles and kisses, to keep to yourself till the next visit Mioliere.
Kinsey, I originally spelt it wrongly but steeped is used practically daily in this place - if you saw the mud that gets STUCK onto the wellies - its the best way to get it off. Glad it was a happy memory.
PSSO - don't you be doing all that decorating yourself, rope em in to assist - even if its only to make cuppa's for you!
Off to do a bit of crochet - feeling guilty as I haven't yet got anything to add to this weeks update - and that will never do.
Its been pouring all day today and even had hailstones a couple of times as its bitter cold. I gave up with the sewing - my fingers were going blue, just did a bit more cutting out.
