    Hi everyone
Lovely o catch up with everybody's news. Hope the poorlies and accident prone littlies soon feel much better.
Well we have DS and DDil coming tomorrow and the weather has decided to play a horrible trick I think everywhere in the Northern hemisphere is being hit by this cold spell and it has certainly arrived here. Still it will be lovely to see them and share special times. They were hoping for a 2 day trip up into the mountains for some fun in the snow but I fear the resort will be shut because of high winds !!!!!!
Anyway to prove i do other things than "HOOK" this is ready to greet them

I have posted some pictures of the Lappys on Wooligans but you lot do make me laugh if only you knew--- I am a real little dormouse and certainly spend more than my fair share up the wooden hill to Bedfordshire. I just have a battery operated hook!!

Well we are off to Alicante tomorrow a round trip of about 4 + hours so I certainly will get on with the woolly stuff on that journey!!

Well will try and pop in as the week goes on but I hope all of you with a house full have a really happy time and lots of love to one and all
Try and do a good deed every day.

    Good morning!

It was quiet yesterday. I didn't pick the hook or needles up at all but read a book instead ;) Since I started crocheting I have hardly read anything as every chance I get I sit and crochet instead of reading! Ready to get back with the hooking today though.

My Mum is coming down for the first time since her surgery - think she's getting a little stir crazy now :) We are going to watch Dante's Peak which we both adore - we're both disaster film junkies on the quiet.

Apart from that not much else going on here. The usual washing, cooking, ironing & preparing myself for next weeks half term :rotfl:

I'll update tomorrow as I'm hoping to get another Chalky square done this afternoon whilst watching the gorgeous Pierce Brosnan save the world from a volcanoe ;)

Have a lovely day all & love to everyone xxxx

  • Next time you all mention chocolates can you hide the posts from me. I did dip the coffee creams then promptly started scoffing them...the result being a migraine by the afternoon, no work done and all self inflicted so don't anyone offer me any sympathy.
Only about 6 left in the fridge, perhaps I should just eat them quickly and be done with it. The sight of Chalky's cake is practically enough to bring on another one.
Managed to strip a ribber machine this morning, clean and oil it AND get it all back together again, so will have a go on that this afternoon. I have also drawn up a pattern for a top for the young girl I am teaching sewing - this is assuming that we get no more snow today or overnight and I can get to her house.
As its half term I expect you were all very busy yesterday finishing all the little jobs that needed doing prior to the invasion of the children - or you were busy knitting?
I will be doing the update on Monday morning and with any luck I shall have completed more than the one baby blanket I have at the moment. Hope you all have a great weekend and for tomorrow

may, hope you get a good result at the hospital
went into town this mornign, as both lads needed a haircut, and while i was there, treated myself to another fake pair of ugg boots, in brown this time .
going to spend this afternoon, finishing of 2 cardigans that i have made this week, both of them need the bands doing, which involves picking up lots stitches, not my fav type of knitting, but saves sewing them on

    hugs all

Hi everyone, finally managed to drag myself back to the `puter.

What a week it`s been here - CHALLENGING - most definitely.
As I told you last week, DD had to see the orthopedic surgeon. She had an op on her wrist Dec 08 and is still having a good bit of pain so he asked if she wanted another MRI scan to check if there was still a problem. Had it done in Jan so the appointment was to confirm results. Surgeon thought it was just some inflammation which hadn`t settled so was quite shocked at what they found. This link will explain but basically it seems as if the bone is dying  and she might have to have an op to shorten one of the bones in her wrist as one is longer than the other.
    http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=A00017
so now she has to have another MRI after baby is born to see if there is any change since January and check if the blood supply is still OK or not.

So, we`re just about getting our heads round this and she comes home on Monday night from work not feeling too well. Stays home Tuesday and we ring the midwives unit on Wednesday as she`s still not right. Told to come straight in to the hospital and gets wired up to baby monitor and also heart monitor as she`s been getting chest pains. !! After 3 hours wired up, the doctor says they can`t find any problem and it`s probably just the way baby is positioned -hopefully - but if it gets worse ring up and arrange to come back in but take things easy for the rest of the week. Seems to be OK now and looking forward to going out for a family meal next Saturday for her 18th birthday. She wants to stay at work till the end of the month and just have 4 weeks maternity leave before baby is due. Just hope she`s not like one of my other daughter`s workmates. She started her maternity leave last Friday (6 weeks before due date) and gave birth to a baby girl on the Monday morning !!!!! 6 weeks early and weighing 5lb 11oz. Blimey, I hope we don`t have that situation here, we`re not ready for a new arrival yet. I still have papering and painting to do and will have the grandchildren next week for half term and I`m in that can`t be bothered doing anything mode. Need someone to stick a rocket up my .......to get me going. Why is it that the more you have to do, the less you want to do ??

Ah well, Think I`ll have to go and feed the inner self and see if I can knit myself some motivation :rotfl::rotfl:. If only.

Have done some Chalky squares to try to de -stress so will update later.
Have a good day and hugs to all in need.

ps I`m glad V. day is officially cancelled tomorrow as well.:o
