  • Hi all,

yay... a coffee cream for me LC Wilson! poor little mite, have a lot of sympathy as my son was at playscheme one summer holiday when he was 6 and accidently got whacked in the face by a toy that flew out of another child's hand when he fell over... he lost half of one of his front ADULT teeth and has had to have it rebuilt over several sessions (not really so much painful as very uncomfortable and he really doesn't like dentists now). But we were lucky that he was registered with a dentist who saw him straight away and have been lovely and kind throughout. I simply cannot understand how dentists in your area would not give emergency treatment to a child, especially one in pain... utterly unforgiveable! very glad you found a dentist to treat him in the end... don't worry about his front tooth being missing for a few years, at least it was only his baby tooth and the only trouble my son has had is being unable to eat apples whole (had to have them cut into small bite size pieces until his tooth was rebuilt and had settled). Glad you got the sky TV and council tax sorted - excellent news for you!

i'm off to visit mum and dad for the weekend so a loooong 5 hr drive for me tomorrow (fingers crossed weather not too icy or snowy!). Dad was diagnosed with that dreaded C***** word last friday (he is only 58) and while he is coping well and has excellent support i will feel SO much better when i can give him a big hug in person.

hope everyone has a lovely weekend and hugs if you want them, BC x

So we are going down tomorrow, we told our friend's and they want to come as well, their van is on the same site so we will make a day of it. Have Lunch probably a carvery then set off home. Me again,
Thought you might like to see the boobs I did for my Sister's friend for the charity run, I sent them unstuffed as she said it would be cheaper postage wise.
She wanted blue but I thought they looked a bit dull so I brightened them up a bit, so they would get noticed ;)

  • xx Lorna, what a predicament and no dentist willing to take on the little one in agony! Still you got a great result fromt he council tax lady, as for the snotty little S.D at sky, ignore it, not worth going there, as has been said I wonder how they manage to keep a job at all with their attitude? Well done for sorting out the extra payments - plenty of wool money to come me thinks.
PippaS have a great time down at the caravan site, hope its a lovely pitch - not the one right next to the loo's. The coffee creams are in the fridge I am too cream crackered this evening to do the chocolate coating, no doubt will get around to it in the morning. The boobies are brilliant!
Shazrobo, glad you got some new shoes and boots too, lucky girl, I am pleased I was able to help, nothing worse than little choice for big feet and pay the earth into the bargain!
ISOM kept meaning to say that the babette blanket-choice of colours is fantastic, bit it will be gorgeous when all done.
Mrs Moneypenny - could you just sprinkle some talc onto some trousers and a shirt - in the hope that you could wash it all off after? Just a thought, rather than cut up good clothes.
Blackcrow, sorry to hear of your dads news, perhaps a good cuddle and a chat with him may put your mind at ease.
Chalky – just when are you sleeping? You manage an awful lot of crochet, I am so impressed.
Maytaurus, hope your doing fine this week.
Pam, if your lurking I hope your also doing fine this week.
Looks like the leccy is going to stay on for the rest of the night - there again I can practically guarantee that if I settle down to watch a film it will all go black half way through, so will just listen to the wireless instead, while I do a bit of a wee jumper. I did manage a baby blanket on the manual knitting machine today, so I have achieved something. Big cuddles to everyone, back tomorrow EDF willing

lcw - life is harder enough as it is and would be so much easier if we did not have to deal with companies and organisations like we do - thats all you needed glad council tax sorted and good luck with sky (im a sky hater having spent errrrr hours arguing with them - they claim they have no sky complaints dept ..... not surprised there is no one "man enough" to deal with the problems they cause) - as for you toothless little man I have a niece that had one half knocked out at about the same age I think they told SIL that "second tooth" would grow at about 5 - my heart goes out to the little fellow PS may i have a virtual coffee cream if i pass you some WI Homemade fudge that im stuffing :D - dont hesitate to moan and groan thats what we are here for - when i read your post I was  for you xxxxx

Oh I forgot - ive been searching for a nice knitted edging for my blankets and wondered if anyone knows how to knit a scallop edge (or sort of half moon) - but was thinking that it could not be "holey" because of babies fingers but also would perhaps like a holey one for the blankets that are taken home by the parents in memory of the unfortunate little ones - am i making more work for myself - what do you ladies think ???? - during my search I can only find edging for "hookers" and Im only a "nit" (yes I did mean that ha ha)

Dont want much there do i :D....

re;’he was insistent on sitting on my friends lap, who had popped in for a cup of tea !!!!!
My daughters dog is just the same ... daft as a brush, just doesn’t realise how big/heavy he is
He has to settle for putting his head on your lap ... and that’s heavy enough!
He is terrified of thunder & lightning tho, knocks on the bedroom door when it’s during the night has been known to jump on her lap when it gets bad!

Finding a dentist can be so difficult, I’m glad you found a pleasant one
Re; ‘Council Tax was sorted in about 5 minutes, then officer spent the next hour chatting’
That’s another thing ...... 5 minutes to do their job & then chill out for an hour ...... Imagine doing that in a place of work?!
I hope you have better day today :smileyhea
Oh, and can I have my coffee cream now please?:rotfl:

    Kinsey

Great question of the day Diane !!!!
How do these people keep their jobs?......... indeed
Whoever you need to deal with these days, it always seems to turn into a nightmare!
Usually begins with an answer machine/auto service,
A struggle to get a human to speak to,
Being passed around a dozen people/departments,
Promises of action/phone back that never happen,
Then the whole process starts again grrrrrrrrrr!
