Just packed up 2 little vest tops and 1 hat to send off for preemie babies tomorrow; they look so diddy!!
Slight hitch on DS's jumper in that he pulled the sleeves I was knitting off the needles and as I am not an expert by any means I had to unrip them as I couldn't pick the stitches up! I was trying to be clever too and knitting two at the same time so I'm no just doing one at a time .... that'll teach me for tying to be clever won't it

Hi, Mumof2. Bad luck having the stitches pulled off. If that happens to me (and my cat has done it!), I find using a smaller needle just for picking up the stitches makes it much easier - the stitches are not as tight as they would be if you were using the needles you've been knitting with.Once you've picked them all up, use the normal needle to knit them off the smaller one then just carry on as usual.
Pol - have fun rescuing some wool. I'm sure there'll be some with your name on it!
Well, I thought I'd have an afternoon crocheting but, as with all my plans lately, I've either been helping DH with his interminable plasterboarding, or fighting on the phone with France Telecom who decided I owed them money when, as it turns out, they owe me! Luckily, I managed to get them to confirm that they had made the mistake but it has cost me a whole hour being moved from pillar to post! Never mind, my DS2 has just emailed to say he will be Skyping after dinner so I have that to look forward to!

Squares: 11, Animal blankets: 20 -
½ dozen assorted "flavoured" doughnuts - waiting sprinkles stitched on ... cor what a palaver they turned out to be, still happy enough with the results.
POL the Do squares are for Loving Hands contact as below

Chalky is collecting the 8 inch squares - well I think she is in April when she returns to the UK.
MUM OF 2 - I knit them two at a time as well, BUT anytime I leave the knitting I stuff a great big cork onto the end of the needles - I obviously lost bits of knitting off the ends of lots of things before I caught on to that one!
Away to catch up with e mails, then a cuppa me thinks, hope to sew and finish the doughnuts this evening, you never can tell tho'.The Hooligan Wooligan – age 9¾

Afternoon everyone,
Havent read through again since yesterday, just thought I'd put my head round the door for a quick look around
Feeling a bit sad today  been to my friends Mums funeral.
There werent many people there as all her family that are left are in their 80's and 90's and live too far away. Her poor OH who is 94 is totally lost poor thing he has lost his soul mate. They had been married 66 years.
I said a little prayer for Granny DO while we were in the church, I said I would yesterday on LH.
There is so much sorrow at the moment, don't you just hate this time of year
Sending a big (((HUG))) to everyone suffering today
Off to the sofa now to start the Memory and Friendship squares for our lovely DO
TTFN may be back later

Hello ladies - well im in complete turmoil and dont know what to do hope you dont mind me off loading - re: DS - have spoken to the teacher today and he has said he wonders whether DS is saying it for attention because he doesnt feel the boys are near him when DS says they are doing it - he does not have the time to deal with it in class and the boys are denying it this is why he has said ds should learn to ignore it - plus everyone was stressed last week because OFSTED were in school - I was so angry with the whole of his response that I got onto the LEA who put me through to Child Welfare - Child welfare have said they will go into school tomorrow and discuss the matter and see what provisions they are making for DS (which is NIL I have to say)
Have grilled DS - he is adament he is not lying - although he said oh its stopped now (meaning none today) - he says he is happy enough and does not want anymore said about the matter and agrees with the teacher he must learn to ignore them.hmmmmmmmmmmm
Now I dont know whether I have done the wrong thing by going to the LEA to ask for their procedure and whether its going to make matters worse for DS. Its going round in my head that they have done this before they deal with matter (if you can call it dealing with) in first instance then if you go back to them they seem to blame your child. I dont want him unhappy but likewise if he says he is happy enough should I let sleeping dogs lie - my gut reaction is to keep going. Oh my name will be mud at the school tommorow - now after writing it down I think oh blow it - my son is more important than worrying if Ive caused trouble - my family have never been confrontational so it comes hard - my Mum has always tried to keep a happy medium would never answer back or fight but says sadly now you have to fight back and unfortunately its not in our nature oh i dont know
A REALLY BIG SORRY FOR WHITTERING I feel better for writing it downDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -
pippa - so very sorry to hear you have had such a sad day - big hugs and thoughts to you - hopefully the squares and sofa will make you feel a bit better xxxx
mumof 2 - which pattern do you use for the preemie vests - are they vests in the sense of underwear vests - as I have been trying to hunt little vest patterns down for ages - Im always intrigued by new patterns and hoard them for the right moment or when I feel more competent to tackle xx ps i have to rip back as I cant pick up either your not alone - its so annoying but knitting two at a time how clever are you xxxx
roamin - how quick you have been with the dognuts Im sure they will look great - show us a pic if you can xxx
Well at least I finished 12" square and started 6" square and then I think will do some mug cosies for shezmit but I would not mind some chalky squares or some vent hats oh decisions decisions .......Debt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -
You keep going F1. You know that DS is only talking about right now - if something happens next week then he will be back to the same position.
The teacher you spoke to seems to be full of contradictions - he has done nothing through lack of time AND he has spoken to the boys, believed their denials AND told you son to ignore them?!
If he believes the denials what is he telling your son to ignore?
If there is something to ignore what relevance are the denials of the other boys?
If there is something going on why should your son ignore it? It is not his job to make his teacher's life easier.
If he's too busy to deal with it in class when did these interviews and assessments take place?
If the teacher finds OFSTED stressful perhaps he is being oversensitive and should learn to ignore it!!!
I'd definitely tell the LEA about that excuse - OFSTED are supposed to inspect the school as it is so there shouldn't be any extra work or stress (unreasonable, obviously, but still stupid to use an inspection as an excuse for not dealing with bullying!)
First your son is oversensitive, then he is lying. Seems to me that he is the one being put under pressure by the school as well as the bullies. Is the teacher saying that he has to accede to the majority view? Because bullies usually hunt in packs and pick on individuals. If the word of the majority is taken in every case then what is the point of claiming to have an anti-bullying policy?
What is your PTA like? Or the board of governors?
Frankly, your son has been singled out already. You may as well go the whole way and get something good out of it, otherwise he will have the unwanted official attention AND still get bullied.
Good luck - we're with you in spirit!0 -
no knitting done today, been a tough day in the robo house, me and ian are definataly no longer a couple, and no longer friends. feeling hurt and upset, so i may be absent for a while

I used this one - http://preemiesuk.googlepages.com/LindaCvest.html
As you'll have picked up I'm no expertso I'd think you'd be more than capable of doing this one! I'm very glad I'm not the only one who has to rip back either
Thanks to all re my knitted sleeves - think a cork may be the way to go and I'll certainly bear in mind that a smaller needle will help pick up stitches. I can pick up 1 or 2, not a whole rows worth!Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
F1 - you are so correct and should keep on at this until you get a satisfactory answer and a solution to the problem. Your loyalty is to your DS and by jove you are doing extremely well under some he??ish circumstances, so you GO GIRL.
Still sewing bits and bobs onto the doughnuts - soon tho' and probably tomorrow now as I have been asked down to my neighbours and that will involve some sort of drinking - they don't do tea/coffee this late either! The Hooligan Wooligan – age 9¾
