    Hi Everyone

Have just whizzed through the posts as haven't been on much lately as I'm doing a Mioliere and being "Dave" so forgive me if I miss anything. I really don't mind as it's all taking shape but the house is a mess. Still.
Lorna so sorry to hear your news. Someone else (sorry, can't remember who) said exactly what I think - that January is a slog at the best of times, and you certainly aren't having the best of times.
Lovely knitting black crow - keep meaning to try a tea cosy myself but haven't been brave enough yet!
    Hope poorlies feel better soon.
    Special squoodge for mini f1.
    Love the name banner Chalky.
Off to do some more of a gown. Having a little break from squares as I have a blanket to sew that I have sort of been doing on and off for a while out of squares to use up some wool that never seemed to be appropriate for anything.
Prob won't get chance to update tonight so will do double for next week.
    Night all

Chalky, the banner is lovely, as is all your work.

Nunnygirl that little bear is so sweet, who's he for?

Blackcrow, I don't know why you were worried, all your things are lovely, and the kitty is gorgeous of course.

Shaz, so sorry to hear your news. You can always have a rant on here, we'll all listen and weep with you. This has been a horrid month all round, I'll be glad when it's over.
  • hugs for you shaz...forgot to say that I loved the piccies which look fab so no worries on knitting abilities there :) Is the puss cat a kitten or a small cat? I suspect Isoke will always be diddy for her age lol!
off to bed as she is off to the vet early tomorrow...

    Good evening everyone!

Sorry I haven’t posted for a while, my DS stayed with me until Wednesday and its taken me a few days to start and put my head round things.

I’ve been lurking at times, keeping up with the latest goings on, yet more sad news for Granny Do on LH, I’ve started some squares – not doing very well with them – I can’t seem to settle down for knitting or reading just now, my mind keeps wandering off.

I just want to thank you all for the wonderful support you’ve given me this last couple of weeks – it has meant so much to me & the family, my DS and DB were amazed that such love & care can be shown by people who’ve never “met” – I tried to explain that its only geography that prevent the physical meeting, our minds & hearts share this precious space whenever we have time/inclination to visit.

    ((((HUGS)))) to all;

    luv

    Good morning, everyone.

Nunny – I just love that teddy; he’s full of character!

Blackcrow – great photos and your work is brilliant. Love the cat, too!

Shaz – so sorry to that things haven’t worked out for you. Don’t forget, we are here for you.

Pam - great to hear from you.

Chalky – thanks for reposting the instructions for the name flags – I still haven’t made one. I really want to try and do one for Summer but I’m running out of time! I think I will be making them for all my little nieces and nephews for Christmas next year, though.

K2tog – you have my sympathies if you’re labouring for your DH! I didn’t get away with it yesterday; I was trying to get ready to go out and had to keep ‘just holding this bit of plasterboard for a minute’. My DH doesn’t do ‘earth’ minutes – he has his very own idea of what a minute is!

Well, I’ve finished my 12” square for DO and will start the 6” one tonight, then I must get on and finish Summer’s outfit. I wanted to do the DO squares because I feel so lucky and blessed to have my grandchildren, even though I don’t see them as often as I’d like.

Well, the lunch yesterday was fantastic; great company and wonderful food. My starter went down really well – I made the three dips (and got asked for the recipes – as I’d made them up, I was really flattered!), the salad turned out well (I decided on shredded lettuce, cucumber strips, green olives, and green grapes – don’t know why, I just fancied them all together!) and, at the last minute, I stir-fried bacon bits in with the chicken strips, along with some coriander and cumin, and was asked for the recipe for that, too. One friend did the most fantastic roast lamb – goodness knows what she put in it (apart from the 16 cloves of garlic!), but it was wonderful. Another friend did the veggies – cauliflower cheese, celeriac and parsnip mash, roast potatoes, and carrots, and another friend did Christmas pudding with clotted cream and alcoholic custard. This was followed by cheese and biscuits. Some lovely local wine was enjoyed, too. Sounds like a lot but we took about four hours to eat it all. We came home really stuffed full and talking about what a lovely day it had been.

I crocheted on the way there but it was too dark to do any on the way home, sadly!

One of my friends showed me a lovely wall hanging she is making for her front room. She is using a huge piece of hessian and has cut out, in black felt so it looks like a silhouette, the local chateau, then added a great big sun and some trees in shades of orange and rust. She has used eyelash wool for some of the tree branches and felt for the others, and she just wants to make a river in blue – as it turns out, I have some textured wool she can have for that bit. It has been a real labour of love for her but will look fantastic when it’s finished – it’s really ‘touchy-feely’, too; I’ll take a photo of it to post on here when it’s finally finished.

Anyway, thank you all for your totals – looks like loads to add to the update. I can’t believe how well you are all doing considering we’ve only just started the new year!

Well, I’d better go and put that kettle on again! Hope you all have a great day.
