    Hi everyone.

Welcome to you, Tia Maria - I'm sure you'll like it here.

Chalky - I know what you mean about birthdays at the wrong time of year. My DS2's was in early December and I missed being there for that, then DGS and DGD1's birthdays were only last week and I'd loved to have been there for those, too. It just didn't feel the same talking on Skype. Still, I shall be seeing them all soon and lots of pressies will be on hand for them all to open!

I have finished my DO squares so will take a photo of them later on. I'd like to have made more but I just know I won't have the time between now and when we leave for the UK in just TEN days! I still have pressies to wrap (birthday and some Christmas ones!), photos to print off to show the folks back home what the house is looking like, some work to do, and the run-of-the-mill housework, starting with the dreaded ironing pile which I will do as soon as I've cleared away the breakfast things.

My Mum has told me she has loads of wool for me to collect when we go and see her - but that still won't stop me visiting my favourite wool shop and spending some hard-saved pennies!

Well, I'd better have another cuppa, then a shower, then breakfast, then rustle up some motivation to do the ironing!

re’ we didn’t find out till beginning of December my DH auntie was ill cancer took her very quickly and she died on 29th dec it was a double tragedy as when her husband had the news broken to him he had a heart attack and joined her a week later. It was a double funeral last friday.’

How sad ..... I’m sure they are together & I hope that thought gives some comfort to their family.
I know what you mean about the new address book ...

Re ‘Feeling a bit sad today been to my friends Mums funeral, Her poor OH who is 94 is totally lost poor thing he has lost his soul mate. They had been married 66 years’

It’s so sad isn’t it, it’s like my mum & dad, they’ve been together since they were 15 & 16 yrs & married 64 yrs, my poor dad doesn’t know what to do, he’s been looking after mum for so long & it’s destroying him, her not being with him, since she went into the care home, for what as you know should only have been for 1 weeks respite whilst I helped him when he was ill, but he still can’t get his balance and of course I had the heart attack within half an hour of taking mum to the respite home & with him still not being right & me having the M.E. etc we’re in a bit of a mess at the moment
Thanks for the hugs Anne, I’m collecting as many of them as I can right now!

May A lovely post as always thank you. Big love to you too xxx

Kathy I bet the wool shop will be nearly empty when you've finished!! Not long now until you travel over here I'm excited for you.

I did some more crochet squares last night they are so quick I'm loving them. I have also nearly finished my 12" square to Do. Where do I post them to please? I'm not a member of LH so don't have an address.

The children have all gone now so I'd better get a spurt on as I'm going food shopping very soon. Have a good day all.

    Hi.
My limping son injured during his five aside football match on Tuesday, was no longer limping yesterday, so he obviously wasn't that bad lol.
Two of my girls still have colds and are bunged up but don't seem too overcome by it :-) My 17yr old has just started a child care course, and is in a placement at a nursery. She seems to be catching something or other on a regular basis lol.
About to start my 10th baby blanket square. Hoping to be sewing it up by the weekend :-)
Have a prosperous and blessed day. Hugs to everyone in need (((((hugs))))) Love you all.

PS. The above Tuesday night should be Monday night. I thought it was Thursday today lol

    Good Morning
First a big hug to you May -- quietly with little complaint you actually sound sad at the moment and we all love "taking" all your wonderful words, ideas, patterns etc to brighten our days. So PLEASE " take " all the positive thoughts that we ALL have for you and keep them safe to help you at these difficult times.
Lots of gentle thoughts for all --- I really do believe you maust make the most of every minute but some are much nicer than others aren't they!!

Well lovely work being done at the moment and super pics-- I love to see everyone's creativity and anything else as well --- got the nosey gene!!

Well it was really interesting last night --- I sat with about 30 little balls of wool and started the squares . It was amazing . You soon judge how much wool you need for 1 round and with some of the little scraps there was only enough for the middle or 1 round and at 1 point I had 14 different squares on the go but all of a sudden they all came together, look really pretty and now only need finishing off with larger balls. So I was pleased with that. I doubled up the strands of 4 ply to make double knit and kept all the ends for my friend with the big garden. Last year she found a birds nest that was lined with little bits of Spanish rugs that she had shaken and loads of ends of wool. So all mine are going in an envelope for her garden. Lovely thought that we can even help the tiniest creatures

Spoke to DD2 and she had alovely day == mice!!!!! She is going away for the weekend so will love that.

Kathy-- Excitement growing. I LOVE looking forward to things. Soon the grandchildren will be old enough to come and stay on their own ( a while for Summer yet!!) during the summer holidays !!

Well must get on we are out to lunch today which is lovely and storm has passed

Happy thoughts and gentle love to all
Try and do a good deed every day.

Hi everyone. Chalky - well done on using up scraps of wool. I think it's a great idea and I will have to look through mine, too. I have loads of oddments that could be used.

Anyway, just thought I'd post a photo of my two DO squares, finished yesterday. I will get them packed up for posting now.

Tia Maria - welcome to the thread. Here`s a link to some phone covers.

They might keep your head out of the oven.
Once you get started trawling the net you`ll find soooooo many patterns you want to do, you`ll be lucky if you get close enough to the oven to make dinner, never mind sticking your head in it.!!

Kathy - lovely squares for Do.

Maytaurus - thanks for your thoughtful post. You must spend ages looking on the internet for the appropriate pics and words. We all appreciate them very much. Big hugs from all of us to you and your mum & dad.

salome - glad to see your son`s limp isn`t anything too serious. Is your daughter doing her childcare course through college? My DD (Bump) started doing that but didn`t like the college part, although she loved being on placement. Quit college and got a job in a nursery where she can do her training `in house`- and will hopefully complete it afer maternity leave.

    sunnygirl - address for Do`s squares http://www.lovinghands.org.uk/contact.htm

Hugs to all of you having a tough time just now for whatever reason. Keep looking for the rainbow after the rain.

    Elaine.x

ps Jean - you beat me to it with the LH info. Lunch already, I`m just away for a coffee- but of course you`re an hour ahead of us aren`t you ?
