Hi everyone and lots of (((hugs))) and gentle thoughts to all in need.

Sunny Girl - it does sound like overuse of your thumb! Take it a bit easier for a few days.

Chalky - have a lovely day. I'll look forward to the photos! It's still VERY cold here; it was -4 yesterday and DH was wondering why I was wearing two pairs of socks! Still, the sun came out so there is hope there somewhere.

Anyway, I have a morning in the kitchen to look forward to. I have loads of tomatoes to use up so thought I'd make some soup with them. With some homemade bread, it should be a truly home-cooked lunch.

Wool wise, I am sorting out some more wool to take away for making Chalky squares while we're driving through France and on the ferry in just over a week's time. I need to check the pressies I am taking back because I think I may be short on a couple of toddlers, but I have found a pattern somewhere for a scarf that has a teddy's face at one end. The pattern looks quick and easy, so I shall try and find the link to it later.

Anyway, we are waiting for the heating engineer to call to give us a quote on adding a couple more radiators. He was supposed to come last Wednesday but, typical of the French, he just didn't turn up. His wife emailed to say that he could come 'any time tomorrow or before 11 o'clock tomorrow afternoon'!! I have no idea what time that means, so we shall have to make sure that one of us is in all day!

Anyway, I hope you all have a good day.

    Hi
Nice to see all these hugs on offer :-)
psso.......Yes, my daughter is at college, she seems to be enjoying it, she did say last night though that she isn't so keen on teaching/nursery work now. Said she likes the thought of being a children's nurse.
Only have two squares to go now for the baby blanket :-) Cast on stitches for a baby hoodie I'm making for our very soon mum to be at church this morning. It's so sweet. Can't wait to see it finished :-)
Have a blessed and prosperous day. More hugs to add to those already on offer for those in need (((((hugs))))

    Hi Everyone,

Have just spent an hour catching up with you, must be nearly 2 weeks since I've been in and I've missed so much.:(

F1 Don't give up you are doing the right thing re school, I'm just like you I don't like confrontation but I have found you seem to find the courage when it comes to your children. The school should be doing more to make sure your DS is happy, I was bullied at school and I can't imagine how they expect him to ignore it, sounds to me like they just can't be bothered to sort it out. Big ((Hugs)) for you and DS.:)

Chalky love the idea of coq au vin on the bbq, Brilliant!:T

Been having a major spring clean and clear out here( well started anyway) Its amazing how much stuff you collect, we've only been here 3 years and i'm opening cupboards and thinking 'why have I kept that'.

:hello:Welcome to all the newbie's, hope you enjoy it on here.

I've done a few squares and some other bits, so will tot it all up and update this week as I haven't updated at all this year.

    Lots of hugs to all.x

I finished the 6" square and they both just need a light press then I will post them off to L/H. I will post a pic first though.
Is'nt it lovely what Do is going to do with the small blanket, I am sure Gavins baby will treasure it.

Welcome back to the MIA's, nice to see you :)

F1 - I really don't know what to say about what I've just read; I bet your hoover is taking a real bashing, because I know mine would be. How can the school complain about your DS's attendance yet say nothing about the fact that he is being bullied? It really beggars belief. Perhaps you can suggest to the school that it also has a target to meet - that the bullying stops immediately. It really does sound as if they have swept it well and truly under the carpet. Perhaps Ofsted is the next place to turn or, even, a solicitor who could write a letter reminding the school of its obligations to the children? Many solicitors offer a fixed fee interview, usually half an hour at very little cost (and some offer half an hour for free - it's worth phoning around), which would probably be enough time to get a letter drawn up. The other alternative is to tell the school that, because they have done nothing about the bullying, and had the cheek to complain about DS's attendance, you have no choice but to involve the police.

I wish you and DS the best of luck.

No it's not a tablecloth ;) it's the last ripple blanket I did. It worked out quite well, was a bit unsure of the colours but I am pleased with it now.
It is for down the caravan when the season starts.

f1 No wonder you are :mad::mad: What is the matter with these people dont they realise why his attendance is bad, or maybe they do and wont admit it, because if they do, it mean's they are in the wrong and have'nt dealt with the bullying. I thought teachers were supposed to care about their pupils.
The other thing is does your DS know of any other pupils being bullied? maybe by the same bully's.
Perhaps if there are all the parents could go en masse to the school and confront the head.
I really feel for you this whole thing is making his school life a misery.
Any time you want to let off steam we are here for you.

Pippa - your ripple is simply stunning! I love the colours and think you have made something truly wonderful. Well done - you should be rightly proud of yourself.
